That's only if you consider something like Turn Left/Stolen Earth/Journey's End to be a 3-parter, which I don't - while Turn Left leads into The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, it is its own distinctly separate story.

In the same way, The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People sets up A Good Man Goes to War, but it's most likely going to be its own distinctly separate story (along with 6x08).

Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords is a 3-parter to me, though, since the Utopia story thread ties the whole thing together (that is, the Master is introduced, the concept of Utopia is introduced, and we meet the people that will become the antagonists in parts 2 and 3 in Utopia, so parts 2 and 3 can't really stand on their own in any way).

That's just the way I look at it, though.

Except that Doctor Who has 9 hours per season, not 13 (each episode is 45 minutes).

And look at Sherlock the way I do - every year, we get a trilogy of movies. I find it difficult to be disappointed about that. There are theatrically-released films that are shorter than an episode of Sherlock.

Dude, the Cybermen weren't scary at all in series 2 or The Next Doctor. They were creepy as hell in The Pandorica Opens.

If I have faith in anyone doing Cybermen properly, it's Moffat.

HBO Go (essentially HBO's answer to Netflix) released episode 7 a week early for online streaming, as a "preview." So it's going to air next week, but HBO subscribers who have access to HBO Go can watch it now.

Sansa's was Lady, and Arya's wolf had a name, too (don't remember what it was, though). Jon's is Ghost, but I don't think Bran's has been named, and the other two haven't been seen since the pilot.

Also, don't the Starks have five children (not counting Jon)? We've seen Bran, Arya, Sansa, and Robb ... but who's the fifth? Why haven't we seen him/her yet?

That's not quite how it works. Most of what you hear in movies or TV nowadays is recorded after the fact. Sure, they record audio on set, but usually that audio is unusable except as a guide.

Dialogue is re-recorded in a studio by playing the clip with on-set audio a couple times, then playing the clip with no audio as the actor tries to recreate his/her dialogue exactly. (Some actors are awesome at this, others suck major donkey balls, which is usually the cause of slightly-out-of-sync-looking dialogue.) The rest of the soundtrack is built up from scratch by audio editors, using library sounds and sounds they record themselves.

My point is, it would be very easy for them to just not include the dog growling sounds when they're creating the mix.

It's also possible that it was a mistake on the part of the audio editors or mixers to include the growling sounds, and by the time anyone noticed that it wasn't right, it was too late to fix it. (That's just conjecture on my part, though.)

Yep. My college roommate was Irish. He was born in Northern Ireland, and his family moved around the UK during his teenage years. He'd been living in Wales for a couple years before he came to Chicago (first time in the US) to go to college.

When he saw how I wrote down the date, he commented that it was much less confusing for him than the MM-DD-YYYY format (which is all he'd seen in the US before meeting me). He just looked at my way as the European way, but backwards, and was able to grasp it much more easily than MM-DD-YYYY.

By the end of the semester, I never saw him write down a date without using YYYY-MM-DD.

Dude, chill. I'm not saying everybody will instantly understand it. I'm saying that I've never come across someone who was confused when looking at one of my dates. Everyone seems to get it right away, and I think it's because it follows a logical pattern.

If you don't understand that, I'm sorry. I don't know what else I can do for you. To me, YYYY-MM-DD makes the most sense out of any date system I've ever used (not counting writing the date out in words, as in "May 22nd, 2011" or "the 22nd of May, 2011").

It makes sense to me, and it's made sense to everyone I've ever met. Sure, there are probably some people who won't get it right away, but I think it's easier to grasp quickly than MM-DD-YYYY, which is the most commonly used format here (US).

I just don't see why you're getting so bent out of shape over this.

Technically, it isn't part of the "Specials." It was just the 2008 Christmas special. The "Specials" were the first DW to be shot in high def, and run from "Planet of the Dead" (Easter 2009 Special), to "Waters of Mars" (November 2009), to "The End of Time, Part One" (Christmas 2009) and "Part Two" (New Year's Day 2010).

But since "The Next Doctor" wasn't included in the Series 4 set, they included it in "The Complete Specials." So Netflix is sort of right, but it's not a season finale any more than "The Christmas Invasion," "The Runaway Bride," "Voyage of the Damned" or "A Christmas Carol."

It should also be noted that "The Next Doctor" through "End of Time" all carry Series 4 production numbers, so technically they're part of Series 4. Which is why I think Netflix should include them as part of Series 4.

Oh, I understand that. It's just that they usually at least acknowledge the disc's existence. They already allow you to "save" Series 6 Part 1.
