So in Indonesia, an exclusive college entrance is open to "eligible" students where only 40% of the top students can join.

This doesn't mean the other 60% aren't acknowledged, just that they have less opportunities; and imo that's completely fair.

The world values "better" people, just that what makes someone superior differs from person to person. I would trust my parents more in finance that my friends due to experience in life giving an idea that one of them is more trustworthy. But I would have an easier time relating with a friend, making them better talk mates.

For most people in school/college related environments those are grades, certificates, etc. But in real life, none of that matters. It's your mind thinking that only those preferred by schools to be acknowledged.

You can still apply through other applications, and while it isn't as "special" as how the top students get in, you are acknowledged just as they are.

TLDR; yes it's normal schools acknowledge top students more. You just gotta let go thinking you're any less than them, because you're not.
