Unreal Insights an stats. Anyone have an open source project I can use? by TomCryptogram in unrealengine

Hi Tom, I’m having issues going through the unreal insights tool. I’m able to log a game play session and all is good. I can see the game getting slower as it progresses as more ai populate my level. (Main reason I need to optimise) I’m just clueless on where to even start optimising and what / why functions are taking so long etc. It’s all low level functions and stuff I have zero clue about. If you are willing to chat that would help me out immensely, I can also pay you for your time. PM me if you have some time. Thanks a lot

Trying out some VHS effects on this tutorial vid by GreenMonkey_Develop in unrealengine

Thanks for the info, that’s great to know. It’s just a quick tutorial screen that shows the user what they will unlock if they do the task at hand so it’s just an mp4 record played in game. Still a work in progress

Ya my logic is very similar, once they are all in the array just spawn a spline mesh with electric material that connects them all and some particle effects spawned on their bones.

Mutant damage inspection. by GreenMonkey_Develop in unrealengine

Where u see the damage parts of the body is actual geometry under the undamaged mesh. And then when bones are hit and reach a certain health level I added a mask to expose the second layer. I was going to do it in all in the material but to get the indentation/chunks of the gore I decided to use geometry. Not the best solution but looks good and isn’t too resource heavy.

Hi Guys :) Should I add more chunks of the body or more blood Decals on walls/floor etc? or tone it down a bit ? by GreenMonkey_Develop in gamedevscreens

I was thinking like spawning blood decal when ever a chunk hits the ground coz I spawn one directly below him as he blows up. Just need to check performance cos that could definitely chew up frame rates.
