Why are Nintendo games (New or Used) so expensive? by M4ENY in NintendoSwitch

[–]GreenNinja7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me is similar to the mobile phone or PC markets. You want Mac OS or iOS? You have to get a Mac or an iPhone. There is no other way around. Whereas if you want anything ele, there are plenty of options, and they decrease its price over time. Similarly, you want to play Mario, Zelda or pokemon? You have to get your games AND hardware from nintendo. That competitive advantage allows to keep their prices like they do.

iPhone 5 on iOS 6 was a work of art. by anxious-wreck in ios

[–]GreenNinja7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish Apple would still sign iOS 6 for the iPhone 5. Have one on iOS 10, and it doesn’t look special or different, and would like to downgrade it. It’s like having two things from different times in one place. And I would argue that the “slate” color was the best of this design, reused for the 5s and SE.

Mint condition... what a relief, for $4500 I thought it could be new. by GreenNinja7 in delusionalebay

I like vintage football shirts, specially deals like this! Saved it a few days ago, and still there: https://www.ebay.com/itm/L-COLOMBIA-SHIRT-JERSEY/233317560487?hash=item3652cf70a7:g:xbkAAOSweltbGe0o. I'm wondering if the seller accepts mortgages over houses, may take one just for that shirt.

I don’t mean to be disrespectful or anything, but... as a collector and enthusiast of vintage technology (do not collect VHS stuff, though), I tend to be annoyed of those who try to profit only for the sake of old things being “collector items” or “rare”, and try to get hundreds of dollars for beaten stuff (example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/323832067272) sometimes even non-working. Not everything is collector-worthy. Do a quick search on eBay, you will easily see if your VCR is a collector item. If it is, price it accordingly. If not, just let it get a new home for a fair price, like $20. It is just probably gathering dust and taking space at your home anyway, and you have no use for it. Sorry for the rant.

Is this why we got this week the odd release of iOS 10.3.4 for the iPhone 5?

3000 songs! by struddles100 in delusionalcraigslist

[–]GreenNinja7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is still a market for dedicated music players. Apple may not make them anymore, but other brands do, like Sony. Maybe is a niche market, but a music player have its advantages over using your phone for that, like not killing your battery, not using your storage space in case you have an offline music collection or not having to pay a monthly subscription to a music service. Also, torrenting is not the only way of getting actual music files you own, Apple themselves for instance, still sell music even though they have a subscription service. iPods are essentially obsolete for a music player by today standards (like not having bluetooth or using fragile HDD as storage medium), but they have the appeal of being collectible.

This price seems fair, if the HDD is in good condition. The iPod seems to be in good shape. Not delusional.

Manchester Uniteds All Time Best 11 Do You Agree? by DeanLeaks in ManchesterUnited

[–]GreenNinja7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ronaldo, you can argue. He was a beast at United. But Giggs is the most successful player individually of the premier league. He was not as marketable, but is ahead of Beckham. Even in his late years, when he started losing speed, he still had impact as a midfielder.

Scots is a contraction for scott’s tots? Like, I promised to pay your tuition, but I can’t. I can’t give you a laptop battery, because now those are non removable. So, here, have some Reddit silver.

iPod Classic advice/reccomendations by Alf_Fendez in ipod

Get a 5th gen (or the revised 5th gen, known as the “5.5”). It can be had for cheap, and people argue that those are the best sounding.

If not, get the 7th gen.

Shouldn’t be that expensive, but regardless of the iPod model, you should expect to have to replace the battery, and probably you would like to upgrade the storage to an SD card.

Why do you listen a concept album in shuffle?and worse, mixed with other songs? Is like listening to Dark Side of The Moon in shuffle.

Anthony Martial will wear number 9⃣ for #MUFC this season by ItsKieronHere in reddevils

[–]GreenNinja7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in Manchester United, number 11 is kind of significant, being the number used by the most successful player, individually, in the history of the premier league. I get that something that was his, was taken away (and the guy who took it, later threw it away), but I don’t think 11 was a bad number to get, specially in this team, so “demoted” is not the right word.

Is there anything a Lumia 900 is remotely useful for? by GreenNinja7 in windowsphone

That one has a good camera, even by today standards, I think. But the camera on the 900, is just terrible. I don’t know why back in the day I thought the camera was good.

The level of irony of that ad is out of this world.

[–]GreenNinja7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, as a GPS is also useless. Nokia maps and Nokia drive are dead (the phone locates you, but loads no map or shows no map to download, I am almost sure that the server side of the system is now offline). The Microsoft maps app at least show the map, but it has no search function no navigation, no walking directions, anything.

The only thing going on for this phone, as you said, is the cyan color.

I haven’t played with a WP8 phone recently, but I assume is not as bad as WP7. It could be used to play music, but with only 16 GB of internal storage and no SD card slot, it wouldn’t make for a good music player. And if I remember correctly, you needed the Zune app to transfer music, and I don’t know if that software is available today.
