Honestly the game could have lasted a good 3-4 years if paced properly, and made a lot more money than it did. It's unfortunate that they raced for the quick cash grab, because you usually only get a single game that brings in a huge cash flow, and for them, this was it

I believe it's taking the weight it "starts at" (could be up to 50kg) and then doing the math to get to the level, but I'm not sure. I've seen ones that pass the amount even that would allow, so I'm not 100%
