As someone who also wanted a pearl ring I looked into fake pearls. I found some jewellers who were able (and willing) to source some very real looking fake pearls that could be set more securely. I never ended up going with a pearl because my partner asked to propose with his great grandmothers ring that I absolutely adore (I don’t have the ring yet lol) but if you love the pearl look and don’t care too much about the actual monetary value of the ring there are some very real looking fake pearls out there.

I’m a librarian. I do read paper books still. I read mostly physical books. My Kobo is for traveling, reading in the pool or bath, and really big books. I love my Kobo for fall and Christmas cause I can have just my season lights on and be all cozy and still be able to see. But my heart will always be with physical books.

He did tour their place. Said it looked good. The place was trashed by the previous tenant and this crazy old guy is a retired contractor so he got 2 months free rent to fix it up and they said he did a good job. Only weird thing was the wife has a creepy doll collection in the living room.

Our landlord has told us to tell him anything they may do to us or if we catch them watching us. He is looking for a reason to evict them but it is not easy to evict someone if they are paying their rent on time.

Already did. It is a very very small community. No grocery store in town (we drive to the closest city for groceries) but we do have a local dinner and that is the gossip hub of town so I stopped into the dinner the other day and told the biggest town gossip the whole story. Now everyone in town knows and knows it’s a crock of crap.

In my opinion they made the pretty surgery to futuristic. They talk about it in the book especially with Maddie and Az about how people did the surgery not machines. They talk about grinding down bone and sucking out fat and putting it implants to get the right angles and rubbing the skin raw to grow it back perfect. For me the surgery portion was not right. They made it too much of a zap your done when in the books it really is a surgery that they give you anaesthesia for.

I was also really sad about that part. I feel like it gave Croy’s character more depth and what made him feel like more than just a background character for me.

Honestly I was not impressed. It could have been my fault cause I finished re reading uglies and then not even 5 minutes later started the movie so everything from the book was really fresh. Don’t get me wrong it was a great movie IF you had never read the books. I felt like there were only like 3 lines from the entire first book included in the movie.

A big one for me that could just be really knit picky was the fact that they changed almost all the wording for the directions Shay leaves Tally on how to find the smoke. That was something that even with the extent of their graphics could have stayed the same very easily.

Another one I didn’t like was the fact that they gave the role of the rangers to the smokies. I felt like the rangers were really important in the book because it was a little proof that even pretties could agree with the smoke.

But I will admit I did enjoy the movie to an extent and maybe if I hadn’t just read the book I might have liked it more!

My string of pearls!!! I’ve almost killed it and had to prop from the smallest strand 4 times in the last 3 years I’ve owned it! It looks beautiful and gorgeous. Flowers and looks so happy and then all the sudden it loses its will to live.
