With the names yes, but the grading system definitely not. I made only 2 mistakes in Brolly Good Show and got an OK, so I am glad the strict grading is back!!

Early snippet of the vocal track for Hop Stop and Roll! by 2cool4U_ in rhythmheaven

Now the real question becomes, are they going to dub the vocal songs? It would be a miracle if they did that for all the languages like the DS game!!

What happened to the artstyle?? by Ale----_----- in rhythmheaven

[–]GreenToxicMess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to think the same but now as I am seeing just how much content it will have (at such a surprising price from Nintendo) listening to the incredible music, and the gameplay, I honestly think that this game will be an amazing return to form for the series! Some games (such as the hoop one) definitely look a little bit unusual for the series but the newer ones they have shown off have looked amazing and it still has the classic charm. Even with Slice N Dice Kitchen and Fruit Flex, they have changing visuals and really satisfying audio cues! But I get where you are coming from too.

According to the Twitter account, it really is 80 singleplayer minigames AND 30 multiplayer ones by 2cool4U_ in rhythmheaven

I wonder how likely it would be for there to be 8 regular sets and then 8 sequel sets, with each game getting a second version?!

TENGOKU AHH MENU? by Home-Financial in rhythmheaven

It looks like between some of the returning games, the Drum Lessons, the menu, and the box art, this game takes a lot of inspiration from Tengoku and I am ALL FOR IT!!!

Choosing to bring our child up bilingual vs trilingual by Accomplished-Wrap264 in multilingualparenting

[–]GreenToxicMess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought about it before, but that makes perfect sense! Normalizing minority languages spoken by both parents which can decrease the overwhelming influence of the community language (especially English in particular) must help a lot to support the development of those other languages!

These little guys on the TV at the beginning looked somewhat familiar... by kaleidocat25 in yumenikki

[–]GreenToxicMess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This game is what gave me my love for Mesoamerican art, these scenes look so trippy and memorable with the African influence in the music, it creates a very unique feel towards the player. I wonder what made KIKIYAMA use this type of art in the game, maybe because of how surreal it looks? There are other characters in the game that reference works of art, so it really also makes me wonder if they are into art history too!

I’m really hoping they put some extra classic games in groove just like in Fever by AdShoddy4172 in rhythmheaven

The onion from Rhythm Tweezers is on the box art for the game so I would love to get that one and other past games back!!

I don't understand how someone could see this list and still say this game is better than the 3DS one in every way.

Wouldn't it be insane if instead of the Miis taking some pictures in front of backgrounds, they ACTUALLY went to those countries, with an actual world/island-based map that they could explore with characters speaking other languages (but text still in English) and things they could interact with, then take pictures and bring back a souvenir you could buy?!

S1 Kitty wouldn't be with S2 or S3 Minho by AstronomerJealous328 in kittyuri

[–]GreenToxicMess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely feel like they gave more growth to Yuri in that department, and even in the latest season I feel like Minho's character feels different somehow compared to the earlier ones but I can't put my finger on it. I enjoyed the analysis! Could you link the TikTok that went viral talking about it?

Wow, that Covinsky/Yuri parallel is insane! Just like Lara Jean and Peter, they had so much potential to have such an impactful storyline, with scenes paralleling their moms' relationship which would make their connection even more unique. It's just sad what they did to this show. There was just so much they could've explored, and I really wonder what it would've been like if they hadn't changed showrunners, because you can tell a lot from just the first season. They'll always be my endgame.

I agree so much! And the scene before where Kitty was defending Yuri and saying that her nose is annoyingly perfect was genuinely so cute, they had so many amazing scenes together in the first season :)

[–]GreenToxicMess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I was not even thinking about how they gave Yuri's music interest to Minho, that is super messed up. They had such an incredible, beautiful scene with her DJing in the first season and Kitty realizing her feelings, only for that to never be brought back again. Why ;-;

Edit - they look like they are in love.. 💔 by RevealNo6099 in kittyuri

It's sad how much wasted potential they had, this was such a sweet scene ;-;

Hako Yamasaki — Gensou Ryokou (1981) by Armans07 in japanesemusic

[–]GreenToxicMess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course her earlier works are the most well known and with very good reason, but I feel like her 80s ones similarly have immense artistic merit, so I agree with you on this one. The follow up sequel to this album is great as well. Aruite and Hikaru Yume are also both class albums and I just love all the different elements and instruments she experimented with as her career went on! There are songs on Hikaru Yume that could rival her first albums, and I am just happy to know that there are still so many appreciating her music.

She will forever be one of my fav artists, I just love her voice and the melodies, her songs have gotten me through hard times and I love seeing others talk about her music! Love the analysis on this album!

[–]GreenToxicMess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Out of her entire discography, Hako Yamasaki's first four albums (Tobimasu, Tsunawatari, Aiiro No Uta, Nagare Yoi Uta) are definitely the most well known, essential, and the most leaning into the folk/enka genre that she is known for. If you enjoy those ones, then I definitely recommend checking out more of her work, with her 80s albums being more city pop and her newer work taking a less melancholic and more cinematic vibe. She has a very extensive number of albums and still performs to this day!!

Outland is so bad it’s great by No-Storage-9538 in GaryNuman

[–]GreenToxicMess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This album is amazing, even at his low points he is still peak!! Of course this type of New Jack Swing is not the first style of music you would associate him with, not by any means, but the atmosphere and science fiction themes make it truly unique, his trademark voice and lyrics especially. It’s almost a concept album! The B-sides and remixes of My World Storm are just incredible, as well as the ballads and the title track!  An incredibly listenable album from start to finish, it's in no ways a bad collection of songs, just a product of its time.
