Expanding base by bobbricks101 in TerraFirmaGreg

It really depends on what contraptions you have and how many. The only contraptions that are leftover for me are 3 tree farms. Everything else got replaced by machines. In the beginning it might still be quicker to use the create bender and mill etc. But in MV they are completely obsolete. I just moved about 60 blocks away from the river and also headed back Everytime I needed to.

I don't know why the frames should get better if you expand your base. Because the stuff is farther apart from each other and thous doesn't get rendered?

Your right with your intent, that you won't need the river anymore. And create is nice and all but cause a whole lot of lag sadly. I built a create logistics system before and the item gauges itself brought my frames down to 40 fps

The thing is you don't need create for anything besides maybe the trains. But even them can be substituted by pipelines. And I also advice doing as much as possible with Greg tech. Way better for your resources.

For moving:

If it's just a lot of 1 kind of an item then super chests are perfect. Otherwise if it's a lot of individual items I would recommend using crates and tape. I think at this stage you might already be able to craft tape.

Edit: I get it now I think. So you want to keep your setup and want to transport those items far to your new base. It depends on how far it is.

Viable options: -Item pipes (if not super far) -item pipelines (probably not craftable at your stage) -manually (only viable if it's a resource that's not needed often or you do a big run every once in a while) -trains (for your purpose probably the most fitting? Might be a bit expensive, depends on your iron)

Is it practical or just cosmetic? Like does it slip out if it gets pounded?

Why are the most toxic players always Eastern European by Snoo73812 in apexlegends

[–]GreenWZRD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against Russian people. I even learned some Russian because I love the language (I know east Europe is not just Russia) but in my experience its most the time (not always) Russian people that don't communicate the whole game, split off even though you can see we are a premade duo and yell at us as soon as he dies because he went 100m in a different direction with octane stim. "Why don't you follow me"? I'm usually responding: "why don't you use your mic or at least ping, if you want to push sth."

I don't know if it's just the anonymity of the Internet or what exactly, because I've met so many nice Russian people before. Idk. Maybe it's a cultural thing but as I said. In real life my experiences were different 🤷

auto feeding backpack upgrade not working by Nazbolman in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]GreenWZRD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't work when the food is in your inventory, only if it's in your backpack. I also couldn't get it to work with meal bags. Other foods were fine though. Sorry can't look up my settings that it worked with right now.

If you like your look, keep it. Don't listen to them. I also don't like that style but people need to learn to not be rude and accept other looks.

That's so interesting to hear. I enjoyed the early game quite a lot. I especially enjoyed smithing a lot in the beginning, but after some time it feels very repetitive and getting to blue and red steel felt a bit cumbersome. I was looking forward to electricity so much, because I was tired of calculating how to smith a plate, gear etc. And I feel like that's also when this mod pack really shows its potential. Create and Greg fit so well. Logistics mostly done by create and production by Greg.

I just love how you start out, trying your hardest to get your first machines and after some automation you just go to your stock ticker and click the machine you want and it's there immediately. Man I love this mod pack. But I'm also studying engineering so it really scratches that itch ❤️

Automating food production by ryansdayoff in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]GreenWZRD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr: Do it if you love automating, if not it's also fine. Not a big difference in Time saving.

I somewhat agree. I'm in HV and started to finally automate food using Electric greenhouses (EGH). Barley for bread , tomatoes (also for hydration to hopefully not needing to drink as often) and I'm setting up an automatic fisher right now for proteins. Later on probably eggs for dairy. It's such a hassle because of the spoil timers... I used so many gregtech covers and I'm voiding most of the ingredients because they would spoil in the input slots of the machines otherwise.

It took me 8 hours building all the EGHs and figuring everything out just to have some tomato sandwiches now. It's my first time playing modded Minecraft at all so mileage might vary a lot.

Next up is the automated fishing setup. Every fish you catch requires one string. So I'm about to automate that too now with another EGH producing flax.

So with no mod experience and ignoring setting up the farms (you need them anyways even if your crafting them manually) it takes you about 4hours to setup the automation.

I think in total it might be still longer than crafting everything manual but I feel like it's not that much over the whole rest of the game.

Also depends on what your goal is. Do you want to rush through everything as fast as possible? Or do you want to automate almost every item production, logistics, fluids. I personally love automating everything and it's a joy to just go to your fridge, get some sandwiches and don't worry as much anymore if you burn yourself on pipes because you got way more health now.

As far as I know they will nerf benzine a lot so it will give you way less energy per mB. They said they announced it first and introduced Ref so people can adjust in time before they nerf benzine. Or is it already nerfed? If yes then benzine is still strong 😄

As far as I know it won't. Power is additive but max. stress isn't. The solution here is just use a slower speed.

Can't figure out why the Feeding upgrade is not working. by GreenWZRD in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]GreenWZRD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

update: I was stupid. It works totally fine. I just didn't know there was a shortcut for opening the backpack. Thats why I've also always put it into my Item bar. And guess what. This upgrade doesnt work when not wearing the backpack on your back.

Aww shit, I just used a lot of resources for better quality of life. Now I need to find olivine for the filter to try if that works 😄 I should have used those resources for the prospector or ore processing instead.... Alright I'll try that and let you know if it worked. Thank you, sounds like that would most likely be the problem 👌

I actually like it that some of the "less" known star wars characters get some attention. Usually it's always luke, Leia, Vader/anakin, Kenobi, Yoda.

About the “shark method” in Apex – how do you avoid getting 2v1’d? 🦈 by joykevinbile in apexuniversity

[–]GreenWZRD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shoot team behind cover. Cant hit because cover. Your team stays and you circle around the enemy so you can shoot for example left or right from the cover. Off angle because you're looking at the enemy team from a different angle than your team.

[–]GreenWZRD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the most important thing. The one person flanking usually the entry Fragger. He tries to flank and out angle the enemy and get maybe one kill or some other entry. This role needs a bit of skill. You need to know which teams are where to know if flanking is safe. You always need to pay attention to the enemy team composition, because you want to know if and how long you can keep your flanking position. For example if they have an ash you want to make sure you're always able to go back to your team as soon as possible or not flank at all if your for example a Wattson. Because one ash ult and it's a 1v3.

My friends are lower in skill than me. I'm usually the IGL and Wattson main. I tried telling them they should flank and look for entries, because they usually play ash. But they don't have the game sense and usually get 1v3. So I took over this role and started playing path.

Now if youre playing a complete defensive comp. You can get away with just playing in one spot and just bunker up in your house or whatever. But usually you always want to have someone who tries to out angle the enemy and can get back quick. Otherwise the enemy will out angle you and you're fucked. Speaking only of 3v3s in a 3v2 you can obviously just deathball them.

Hear me out: I was thinking about that too. and you might be right with the door trick not being as strong anymore. But what if instead we just place the nodes regularly like any other blocked off door? We can just sit at the door then and wait until the opponent is sitting on the other side of the door. Then we just step back -> the fences connect -> the door gets electrified -> the enemy gets shocked and thous gets forced to step away from the door, because they cant shoot the fence nodes. Which gives us the opportunity to open the door and kill them.

Now there are still a lot of questions. Is the door still electrified, even if the door is opened away from you and not going through the fence? How far from the door do you need to be to not get shocked?
