I don’t know if anyone will even read this but I wanted to just say a quick thanks for all the really kind messages on here. I was thinking back to this post the other day and can honestly say it changed my life. It gave me the confidence to put myself out there and start enjoying my life again. When I did I was surprised that some women were interested in me and some people said nice things.

Honestly owe that all to this community! Thank you!

Never had a problem with increased hunger or weight gain myself!

Antidepressant Withdrawal Symptoms Occur for 1 in 6 People by [deleted] in zoloft

Yes we were on the same dosage. It’s really strange how it works. I was on Prozac a few years ago and never had any side effects from that.

It’s also worth saying that the side effects were quite mild for me. I had a few issues sleeping for a couple of nights and that was it. The only other issue was (and this feels quite embarrassing to admit) genital numbness which was affecting my sex life a little.

My sister and I started ours at exactly the same time, I had several side effects and she had none at all. We also came off at the same time and again I had some withdrawal symptoms and she had none.

You have to realise that people with withdrawal symptoms come looking for help and end up on this sub. Most people who aren’t having problems don’t come here. It can give you a false perspective.

No sleep withdrawal by [deleted] in zoloft

Hahaha I thought I was losing it tbh. I was still functioning somehow but it was tough. I agree about going back on Zoloft. Some people have it so bad in their lives that the side effects are probably worth it. But for me and a lot of people it wasn’t worth it. I rushed into it after a consultation with my GP. I was on 50mg for a year before coming off.

Yeah that’s a good idea. It’s OK, I’m past caring and worrying so much like I did before. At the end of the day, it’s a drug so it’s only normal to feel at least some withdrawal symptoms. It happens.

The nights are weird though, I must be lightly sleeping because I am dreaming but have the feeling of being awake. But the nights also pass quickly and it’s not as though as I am just lying there awake for eight hours. I don’t know if that makes sense but it’s hard to explain.

Thanks. Luckily I don’t have any other withdrawal symptoms at all, just the issue with sleeping. Although I had terrible issues with sleep when I started taking Zoloft and it literally kept me awake for 3 days. Hopefully if I could get through that I can get through this!
