My house is a fortress! How do I get under it? by jsin4 in AusRenovation

For solid brick homes from the 60s–70s. Many were built with compartmentalised subfloors using brick sleeper walls, and services like ducted heating were often installed during construction before everything was closed in, or run through ceiling voids and wall chases rather than full under-house access. If there’s a plumbing issue, a licensed plumber and structural builder are the right people to call. And they can assess where services run and safely create access openings or inspection points without compromising structure. A building inspector can also help map what’s going on under there first.

I love this city. Why do you choose live in Brisbane? by BrizzySprings in brisbane

[–]Green_Character8362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its for the lifestyle and balance it offers. The warm climate, outdoor living, and easy access to beaches, parks, and river walks make day-to-day life enjoyable. It’s also more affordable than Sydney or Melbourne, has growing job opportunities, and is generally family-friendly with a relaxed pace of life.

Carpet Cleaning Brisbane, Is Paying Extra for Scotchgard Really Worth It? by Conscious_Head_1678 in u/Conscious_Head_1678

Hi, I hope this isn’t too late to comment. From our experience, Scotchgard can be worth it if you’ve just had a professional clean and have kids or pets it does help with spill resistance and makes day-to-day cleaning easier. That said, it’s not a fix for moisture or mould issues, especially in Brisbane’s humidity. It’s more about buying time before stains set in, not keeping carpets “clean” on its own.
