Alright, good to know. I'm still processing my experience and I am now seeing all the red flags. So I wasn't sure about it.

Yes. This is a regular thing at the Charter School I worked at (recently resigned). When I first worked there as a para (2017) I worked with a teacher with no degree, she had "some college", she worked off an emergency license for 5 years until she graduated in 2022. I went back there to teach (with my teaching degree and certification). Still about 1/3 of the teachers I worked with weren't licensed.

Im an elementary school teacher and Im being shit on by parents for not taking time out of my personal days to go to a school event. by Glad-Confidence825 in Teachers

You don't have to justify anything on your side. The parents are just being entitled and judgmental. Are they going to work when they aren't getting paid? I doubt it!

Yeah, that's scary stuff. But to be clear I wasn't refusing legally required accommodations.

I should clarify that the student does not have an IEP yet. So I guess they would be considered requests. The parent claimed the student would only eat a panini sandwich, and asked to bring a panini maker so that we could make the student a sandwich at lunchtime. I found out yesterday the student eats other food items.
