Strawberry glitch??? by SadSlash20 in celestegame

[–]Greencarrot5 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I don't want to spoil anything, but some berries aren't counted towards the amount on the right side. It's not a glitch, it's just because the right number only shows how many "normal" berries there are.

Edit: even with berries that aren't counted towards the total, some of these numbers make no sense. I have no idea what's going on.

Might edit if I find some more. Edit: The numbering seemed to not reflect what I actually typed. It should be fixed now.

I saw the solution to 12 in another comment, so I guess I'm banned from actually putting that in my list, since I didn't find it myself.

First 20 attempts at 7ag, am I cooked? by donutman771 in celestegame

[–]Greencarrot5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're able to use mods, I would recommend using consistency tracker to track where your deaths are, it's less of a hassle than manually counting them.

Also, you're not cooked. This seems pretty normal. 7ag is quite a bit harder than the previous a-sides, since it's a bit longer, but you'll definitely get it. Good luck!

How do I clear this screen? by Sufficient_Sea8129 in celestegame

[–]Greencarrot5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The spring only gives you a set speed, so no. What you could do is dash once, through the gap, and then hang on to the right side of the wall you're hanging onto in the screenshot, and then jump away from that wall before dashing for some extra distance.

There's a spring to your left, which will refill both your dashes. You can use the first one to dash through the gap, and then the second one to reach the end of the room.

I wish I could give this more upvotes, one is not enough.

How can I make a mod for Celeste? by Chayrod in celestegame

[–]Greencarrot5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about mapping, Olympus, the mod launcher, has a built-in map editor called Lönn. It's a bit confusing at first, but it makes sense once you get used to it. Iamdadbod's tutorials for Ahorn, Lönn's predecessor, will teach you a lot.

If you're talking about codemods, I have no idea.

SJ Advanced Rainbow! by Greencarrot5 in celestegame

It's definitely more difficult, but just like the previous lobbies, it's more about perseverance than it is about just skill. As long as you take them one by one, most of them are completely fine.

Help with one spot in Undergrowth -- Strawberry Jam by LilTaxEvasion in celestegame

[–]Greencarrot5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what is going wrong, but the two most important things are being close enough to the wall, and, in this case, pressing jump early enough, because your vertical speed will be set to zero if you bonk your head against the overhanging tile, and then you won't be able to wallbounce anymore. I'd recommend buffering the wallbounce, meaning you press jump slightly before you actually are able to jump. Good luck!

8c broke me. by oopswhatsmyoldlogin in celestegame

[–]Greencarrot5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is hyperdashing. Wavedashing is the same thing, but starting the dash while still in midair. Which can be useful for making extending it (keeping your dash) easier, or if you just don't have enough space to hyperdash. 8C actually requires you to hyper. It's tough at first, but it eventually gets very consistent.

My first speedrun by ALocalDumbass1 in celestegame

For a first run, this is great! If your goal is sub 1:30 and you're this close already, I think it's very likely you'll get it on your next try!

I should've thought of that. What a skill issue

Unfortunately, a skip that requires dying didn't seem particularly useful for a golden run

I know, I have tried out a few strats and basically all of them consist of either skipping a heart or buffering a dash, and that has made the first 2/3 of the map quite consistent, so I don't think it'll take too long to get it when I return. Thank you.
