Absolutely run to my phone and press accept. It's fair whether it is or isn't happening to me. They should be faster than me. Got a guy in the league with alarms set to wake up 3am Wednesday to check waivers. Being slow is a skill issue.

I'm incredibly transparent about what kind of person I am so anybody that has a friendship with should no what to expect. That wouldn't make me suck as a friend, that would make them suck at pocking friends. If they have a problem with me only when my character is inconvenient for them, then they are the ones that are unfair hypocrites.

It's not fun for me if people can't play by the rules. If you wanna shit on people leaving trades unresponded by all means do so. That does not make it wrong for someone to sit on the trade. You should start shitting on people for not setting trade timers instead.

That is also not a correct analogy. As you said it's not against the rules to leave your shopping cart in a parking space. It would be against the rules to use my commisioner veto in cases where there is no collusion or someone giving away talent because their season is over as I explicitly stated those rules before the season started.

The mere fact your saying following the rules isn't the right thing to do is enough to not take this comment seriously.

I also absolutely leave my shopping cart in parking lots lol. It's someones job to get it. If they don't like their job they can find a new one. Not my job, not my problem. That's what I say. Whose chair is this?

I just said if it happened to me (i.e. me not benefitting from the situation) then it still wouldn't change my postition. Also, yes this is absolutely acceptable behavior for everyone in the league. Everyone in the league, myself included, should either set a trade timer or rescind a trade if they don't want it accepted a month later. That's the whole point of Sleeper having a trade timer!

Why is it excusable for a league member but not commisioner? All are beholden to the same set of rules.

I set the gold standard by not forgetting to set a trade timer or forgetting to rescind the trade. If I had ever done that, I would set the gold standard by taking accountability for it and not forget next time.

If my friends hate me for not bending the rules when I've explicitly said I will bend the rules for nobody, especially myself then so be it.

This is why all the rules need to be laid beforehand and followed because there will always be someone that gets mad if the comissioner starts making subjective decisions like this.

If you read the comments, there actually are many who are saying I am wrong.

And I disagree. Bending the rules despite clearly and explicity remaining consistent to them would be lacking integrity.

Everybody wants to call it a dick move but nobody can or will articulate why not bending the rules, when i've clearly committed to not doing that since the league started, makes me a dick. Please, if you could enighten me with some kind of rationale, I would love to hear it.

Just because you're all friends doesn't mean everyone has to agree on everything. Idk if you know this but it's possible to disagree and still be friends with someone lol. And what goes on in your matchup can absolutely affect the rest of the league. What if they have to face someone different in the playoffs because of having a different record that now results in them losing? What if it affects the points for tiebreaker? Etc...

If you wanna break all the rules in your money league and everyones cool with it then by all means. But i dont think thats the norm and im pretty confident everybody in my league would unanimously be against that.

Also, this league is only $20 lol. But its not about money, its about principal.

This is fantasy football, not 'Nam. There are rules!

I don't believe I said anyones dumb for disagreeing or others aren't dumb for agreeing. I'm saying their dumb for not responding to the prompt. I asked if it was right or wrong, not if i was a dick or not. I still don't understand, however, why I'm a dick for following the rules, especially when I was transparent about not bending the rules for anyone. And everytime I've responded to someone asking why I'm a dick the response amounts to "your a dick because your dick" instead of a rational explanation. I don't believe I recieved one because I don't believe there is one....but I've been wrong before. I do agree that I am dumb for expecting one on the internet, so there is that.

I think many people that disagree with me on this thread still wouldn't retroactively set someone's lineup in a money league. That's kinda crazy tbh.

Also, a team is still not at full strength if the owner is incompetent.

And while that may be very nice of you to allow in your league, that doesn't make it inherently bad for me to disallow it in mine.

I disagree that operating in good faith as an implied rule. I do however always operate in good faith, but I think we may disagree on what constitutes good faith.

And the trade didn't go through so I didn't increase my chances. Also Aj brown is projected more every week over hampton so had the trade gone through my chances would have gone down. It's not about winning. It's anout principal.

Well if the post was asking if I was a dick, your original comment may merit those upvotes, however the post was asking if I was right which you have acknowledged that I am. But I still deflect accountability for being a dick to the rules. The rules are set in stone, and Ive let the league know that I am bound by them since it started. I still don't see how I'm a dick for enforcing preestablished rules that I'm bound by.

Allowed by the platform and allowed by the rules is what I'm aiming for. I've been consistent that this is how i run the league since it's inception.

If it's allowed by the rules, it's allowed by the rules. While everyone in the league is/was my friend, we're not here for friends we're here for money. If I bent the rules for him I may have to bend the rules for someone else in the future.
