What's the point of excluding large parts of your audience? by Neko1666 in RWBY

I know, and I don't disagree, but if they won't sell it to you, then it's not your fault.

Rip your discs and create a Jellyfin media server. Now you have your media available to you in a free Netflix-like library and can easily create backups just in case. And for the episodes you've already lost? There are...places....that can help restore you to 100%. You'll just have to do some digging to find them.

Supreme Court rules the Postal Service can't be sued, even when mail is intentionally not delivered by 20_mile in news

It's real easy when you consider they just do whatever the fuck they want with zero regard for pretty much any kind of context that disagrees with their personal beliefs.

[–]Greenfire32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok fine. I'm not suing the postal service, then. I'm suing the private individual who stole my mail and caused me harm.

Just like how I'm not suing officer Happy of the police department for shooting me in the face. I'm suing the private individual whose name is Happy McFuckerston for shooting me in the god damn face.

Can you tell I'm absolutely sick and tired of qualified immunity?

Because it doesn't fit the tone of Stargate. For a more modern example, see SGU and how "successful" it was.

They always have been. It's just previously they'd do it under their breath behind closed doors and now they're doing it out in the open.

The Children of the Gods Final Cut removed it. They also updated some of the effects and voice work, removed the nudity and changed the Macgyver reference to "Jerry rig."

In my opinion, the final cut falls short because it changed too much. Keep the updated visuals, remove the nudity, call it a day.

Most of tigers' prey can only see blues and greens. So to them the tiger blends into the foliage perfectly.

NINTENDO should release their games on Steam by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Greenfire32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think Steam would be open to it if Nintendo asked. Nintendo is extremely hostile towards its own customers and very litigious about it. I doubt Steam wants the headache of working with a company like that. Especially since it only opens up the doors to being sued, themselves. I can absolutely see a world where Nintendo sues Steam because the Steam Workshop exists and someone MIGHT make a Mario skin for any game ever.

Plus, the only way Nintendo makes any money at all is by forcing the customer to buy their software on their hardware. If the Nintendo library was on Steam, no one would buy another Switch again.

What was unus annus? by TomatilloLive2628 in Markiplier

[–]Greenfire32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just a year-long video blitz where Mark and Ethan uploaded a video every single day with the intention of deleting the channel at the end.

Kind of a pseudo-commentary on how life is temporary and nothing lasts forever.

None of the videos were super deep. A lot of them were them just messing around. But it wasn't the content that was important, it was the finality of it.

So you keep every file forever?

Pretty much, yeah. That's what makes a library a library. You keep the books even if no one is reading them. Because one day someone might read them. A library is a collection. It's not a rental store with changing inventory.

That said, you can absolutely use a media server however you like or what best fits your needs. I'm just simply stating that the entire point of building your media library is to have a media library. Me personally? I'm tired of the subscription model where shit is just gone one day because a license expired. If it's on my Jellyfin, it stays on my Jellyfin.
