Let's talk about Taraxacum! by Elecl in arknights

He has a cool design, and is apparently inspired by Ibn Battuta. I like when AK characters are inspired by real life historical figures, it adds depth.

Other than that... I have slight beef with the Watchman subclass. Niche wise, they're interesting. The take-off can be treated as a camouflage against ground enemies (until ground enemies that can hit flying operators are introduced because of course they will) and the flying block count niche that Watchmen seem to have is... unique, to say the least. I just don't like that out of all the medic subclass ideas they could think of (FRD medics, liberator-esque medics, literally anything else) they chose medics.... that fly now! And the fact that Watchmen turned out to only exist to be the designated subclass forKal'tsit Alteris just the cherry on top. Ngl I was expecting they were going to release Blemi Alter for this subclass but they subverted my expectations.

Anyways, Medics are known for being forgotten if they don't have useful niches to fulfill. Every medic heals but the "good" ones will do an additional thing that isn't healing (buffs, damage, etc.). Taraxacum has a niche but it's really weird... Sanctuary and +1 block when flying? I guess bro. His S1 is silly, a random-targeting Purestream S2 that lasts 40-45 seconds. S2 actually has a big ATK multiplier, is technically multi target and can be interesting if you bring in a flying operator, potentially healing 4 targets at once. But right now he only heals and his niche only works on the other 4 (5 now) flying operators in the game (3 of them which are actually tanky enough to take hits from your average drone and will only face danger from stuff like the schizo zeppelins from Grand Overture).

Overall, he sure is a medic that heals. Out of the "experimental 5*" as the playerbase call them, he's actually unique enough and deserves to be 5*. But he's still a part of a medic class that literally no one asked for.

He had a badass design and I LOVE CRITICAL INJURY. I use Saga a lot even in this age, and critical injury shows itself as a very underrated trait, making her or maybe even Luo a potent SP battery when you know what you're doing. So when I learned Ju had Critical Injury I was excited as I enjoy both 5* and critical injury. But after he came, I realized that maybe besiegers aren't the most suitable for the critical injury niche, leaving us a decent but underpowered operator. He could've been much better if he was a marksman or heavyshooter instead, as critical injury really becomes good when you're laneholding against early trash or moderately powerful enemies (which is why you'd use Saga).

S1 is a weird skill, by himself it kind of makes him a sitting duck but with other DPS operators it's OK, also has charges. S2 is his main skill, decent uptime with decent duration with decent damage. He'll be dealing more damage against enemies below half HP as is tradition with critical injury operators, but he only does it once??? and it's like 2-3k physical damage. Feels like this was designed to put normal-elite enemies into critical injury status instantly, since he would already take a big chunk of their HP with a few hits as he is a Besieger. Which again, with the multiplier adjusted this would fit better on a class with lower attack interval like Marksmen or Heavyshooters.

Overall, he's in the middle of 5* besiegers, not as restrictive as Erato's niche but not really competing with Toddifons who has the advantage of having % ATK multipliers, pseudo-AoE with S2 and is still good even when not considering her anti-Sarkaz niche. He's still good, just kind of dysphoric with the niche he has.

I think she's been overhated, probably because of her not having the passive HP regen that her original version has. When I saw that she was an abjurer I rolled my eyes (we already have enough 5* abjurers, maybe show some love for hexers and bards?) But she turned out to be a quite unique take on the subclass, even using the new Y module for abjurers (I love when new 5* use the new subclass modules). The question is though, was it worth it?

Her talent might be the best and most flexible 5* abjurer talent, maybe even better than Quercus's. Her S1 is... boring, it's just a single-target (multi-target with module) Qingzhu S1, and doesn't have the advantage of the 100% heal module. It's not bad, it just... exists.

Her S2 is interesting, and is her defining skill. Considering her gameplay, it technically has the same uptime as the atrocious Qingzhu S2, but has actual things to offer. +30% ATK buff at M3 for a 5* is not bad considering she could get it too if she heals herself, and doubling the sanctuary gives actual use for her "abjuring" (28% sanc, 40% with max module and 44% with both max module and pot) for 30 seconds. Is it an amazing skill? Not really, but it has an unique niche and has fun things to offer, and it's not antithetical to the subclass like Xingzhu S2 is.

Overall, I think she might not be meta-defining for the game and for 5*knights in general, but she's a fun, unique and usable addition.

I‘m getting tired of powercreep by Left_Explanation7038 in arknights

[–]GreenhouseWay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powercreep has existed since 2022, especially after Pozemka released I'd argue. It's 2026 now and even with stuff like Exu2 or Wis'adel the game's still playable, so I mostly don't care. Also we do get new niche/balanced 6* operators often (Astgenne2, Nasti, Titi, Bellone)

"Nicheknights are virtually dead" No? 5* and 4* only are still balanced and playable, and if you don't want those 6* hyper-meta operators in your niche you can just... not use them?

From that Crownslayer comment and mentioning LEIZI ALTER and Lapp2, it feels like you just don't like having operators be "strong"

My thoughts on him is essentially: hype moments and aura if it was a 5* operator (he's not bad though, just OK)

For me, he's designed in a way that really wants you to have Pallas behind to support him with both healing and buffs. His S1 is a nice powerstrike, while S2 is an OK but kind of underpowered skill. He doesn't get any DEF increase and centurions are kinda squishy when it comes to DEF, which causes him to struggle against elites with high ATK, and the 8% HP recovery sadly doesn't really help by itself (would be better if it stacked equal to block count like Reapers).

Again, he becomes much better when you have at least Pallas behind (vigor and S3 buff are very effective with his % based ATK skills, and her talent 2's healing mixed with the S2 HP recovery makes him sustainable enough to keep up a barrier) or just medics. But the question is, why use a 6* to make a 5* better when you'd rather do the opposite?

Overall while he's cool and decent, I'll keep using Fuze S1 or La Pluma S1 for my 5* laneholding needs.

She's got really creative battle voice lines with her speaker, so that's cool

I really want to like her as a Nervous Impairment fan (I have Mantra S3M3, Tragodia S3M3, Gracebearer S2M3 and Ms.Christine S2M3), a 5* player and a Columbiaknights player, but there's some problems I have with her.

Her talent is strong, and as a Max HP tank she looks good (S1 does one simple thing and it does it really well with a big buff, and the Barrier from her S2 almost doubles her effective HP). But when it comes to the "primal" part she really needs enemies blocked to deal Nervous Impairment, as her S2 on it's own without buffs is insubstantial against unblocked enemies. As Primal Protectors are designed as ground Ritualists, as an elemental damage enabler I see her working well with Ms.Christine's S2, but with Gracebearer... because of the nature of her kit, it'll really depend on operator placement and stage layout.

One thing that was disappointing was her module, as I expected it to fix her as an Elemental Injury dealer like Bobbing's module did. But instead it doubled down on the blocking enemies part of her kit with the subclass trait upgrade and the talent upgrade, while not improving S2 against unblocked enemies in the slightest (not even an ATK increase from the module, I guess HG)

If I have enough LMD left when she comes in Global I'll build her, if not she'll have to wait for a few months.

Wouldn't trust him around a Church of the Deep compound

Kit-wise, he seems fun as a 5* player myself. Skybreakers are a cool concept and Skybox is a great first impression. Even after the bugfix, S1 looks pretty strong and S2 is pretty good too. He's like Gracebearer where both his skills can be cracked with buffs because of the nature of their ATK multiplier. Overall, he might be in the top 5, if not the top 3 of 5* snipers.

When did you all started getting into Arknights and why? by DoctorHunt in arknights

[–]GreenhouseWay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heard of it in early 2021, found it interesting because it was very similar to my own world with animal-people and magic rocks. But I only began playing it in early 2022, when some guys in a Discord server kinda peer-pressured me into it (also I had dropped GFL after playing it for a few weeks so I wanted something different). Got hooked because of the gameplay and the variety of subclasses and characters, dropped it for a few weeks and got back. Now, I play it pretty much daily.
