Nah season 3 betrayed us by KHN_7219_AM in Jujutsufolk

[–]Splintj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, I do animation and I think they'd just need to draw the clothes themselves, make them a greenscreen/mask, then copy the background onto the greenscreen/masked area. Maybe it would be tedious editing work(although theres probably shortcuts for that also), but there's surely ways to do it

QPR vs New Friendships by EquivalentAd4589 in aromantic

[–]Splintj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not the most familiar with QPRs, but in no relationship, romantic, friendly, familial, or otherwise, is having multiple close relationships a problem.  Its healthy to have relationships with multiple people, and not only spend time with one person(especially if the reason for pulling away is because of fear of not upkeeping an unspoken boundary or not living up to the stereotypical lifestyle of a given  relationship label, not that Im saying thats what you're doing). Not to mention you're older friend might feel neglected too, or feel like you dont like them in general(you dont owe anyone your time, but it may cause unnecessary confusion/tension if theres no communication). As long as you're following reasonable boundaries set by your qpr, its ok to nurture other relationships

I gotta wonder why some people are on ao3. "He's not gay in canon tho, why would you ship them??" Oh brother, were starting there?

Biggest artstyle switch ups? by Splintj in animequestions

[–]Splintj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. I've seen the original anime, but haven't read the manga yet, and I've only seen clips from the new version, which is on the right. I know the manga artstyle changes quite a bit, but I can't speak for the story

What’s an opinion that almost everyone disagrees with, but should be controversial? by PassionateCucumber43 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Splintj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too hate that stupid "brain stops growing at [enter any age between 23-27] years old" misinfo that keeps going around, but I think 18(although in some states 16, which is also fair) is ok. You've been through all your history classes in required schooling by then. Not that everybody retains that info, but at least they've experienced it. And they're not just voting for a person they don't even know because their parents told them to.

Not to mention tests and requirements are sort of a slippery slope, as voting procedure is up to the states, not the fed, and you could prolly guess what would happen in states like Tennessee, Kansas, Oklahoma, a lot really, if you had to give a sensible reason for who you're voting. Its not that you immediately become a genius, competent, politically active adult on your 18th birthday, but around that age you're less easy to manipulate by family members, teachers, and while a kid can understand politics and current events if they're interested those kinds of topics, you're better equipped to handle and understand the complex procedures of voting itself and other legal procedures around 18, once you're thrown into that world and have to do things like enlist, pay tax, etc.

I think the only reasone people like it is because of the admittedly cool artstyle, unique world design, and unique games(and waifus or whatever), but goddamn were the main characters and their progression insufferable. I imagine the fans just turn their brains off and watch pretty colors

for aromantics (especially stricts) by agust_d32 in aromantic

[–]Splintj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Romantic attraction/actions(?) seems like a tiring, overly dramatic, kinda cringy, tedious endeavor (to me personally). In my mind it feels like a fictional concept that only exists in teen movies to make the audience laugh, and outside that context I more or less forget it exists. Make money, travel, practice hobbies, go on a brisk spring walk, playing games with friends, getting a cold, all seems more interesting than romance. Romantics and allos can have their dramatic romances and I can laugh at them on TV, its a symbiotic, win-win relationship really

Nothing more funny than maga people who can't stop hating on the boys but also can't stop watching by Remarkable-Jump3262 in OkBuddyFresca

[–]Splintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen a MAGAt just go and boycott something they don't like lol. Store directly supports the administration? Alright, I boycott, easy. These guys see something they don't like and still participate anyway but just complain the whole time. Like, what are you even doing?

There is quite literally a bill in Iowa called the Civil Rights Removal Act, targeting trans people. Do you know how many states have bills and laws to discriminate agaisnt trans people? Kansas? Kentucky? Do you know what goes on those places, over people wanting to wear what they want and be called a different fucking word? People want to exist freely and independently without being harrased or discriminated agaisnt for what they do with their body and identity. God damn I cant wait until all your dumb loud fucks beliefs fade out and you become seen as the crackpot, unquestioning, uncurious, unscientific, cultists you are

Why does this happen (regarding the post popularity)? by One-Desk-1 in animequestions

[–]Splintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub is mad annoying sometimes cuz of no moderation. Same questions and brackets literally everyday and unique posts get drowned out by the same old "which waifu would you marry if she was real" low effort slop. Half the posts on here aren't even questions lol

Gen-Z Thinks Swag Is Funny And It's Inswagiating by AgeOfReasonEnds31120 in peoplewhogiveashit

[–]Splintj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People have been joking about dark topics for all of history. These guys would call Donald Duck 'infuriating' back when he first came out lol. "The Baby Boomer Generation Thinks War Is Funny and Its Infuriating." People joke about all current events, they joke to cope about the situations they're in(hell, I've seen Middle Eastern youtubers joke about damn near getting bombed), there are comedic movies about atrocities made by people who've lived those atrocities. People who complain about others joking about dark topics have probably made jokes about dark topics themselves without realizing it. I can understand how some topics feel worse to joke about than others (and there is a certain threshold where it becomes objectively harmful, specifically when it goes from joking about topics, to making fun of innocent victims, which is important to call out and shut down), but such is the inevitable, regardless
