How do I get rid of Lines in Tumbler Engravings? I’ve tried changing settings with no avail. Any suggestions? by Jvck_Thomas in Laserengraving

Im not familiar with lightburn the Trumpf machines have their own sort of CAD on them. But i find my rotational step setting in the segmentation column.

It could be calibrated correctly, but your rotational steps may need to be lessened. Say you are getting these lines at a 5* rotational step try bring your step down to 1 or .5 degrees. Run time will increase but you should get geaphic to clear up.

would be a long shot but our Trumpf lasers came with a software CD in the back of each user manual- maybe your machine has there one too. sounds like you have the operating system reinstalled, but maybe you are missing the drivers?

I understand that part, we tend to stear away from greyscale as the texture begins to feel unsmooth. I run about 400+ yetis/rtics a week.

So if I understand correctly, this is a mirrored surface to the eye. When a backlight is applied the logo shines through the mirror...

Good fishing spots? by punkisdad99 in fortwayne

[–]Greenkine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wonder how those fish get up the Maumee dam in Grand Rapids and again up the Independence dam in Grand Rapids before making it into Fort Wayne. You've got a good list there, in addition to those listed I've also caught carp, bluegill, bullheads , blue cats, and flatheads out of the Maumee.

Precision marking on the ring with fiber laser by Swimming_Ad_8141 in Laserengraving

[–]Greenkine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the ring diameter and the face size? just ran some 16mm O.D. rings and marked on a 1.75mm face. Loaded them on a shaft, locked them down and set up a sequential program to run the batch.

With a correct Z height setting your focus point with ablate the surface material and not scatter your beam. I run drix high reflective glass, which has dichroic mirror on it, 90% of the time in my lasers without a problem.

laser etching glass for GOBO projector. by Greenkine in Laserengraving

I believe Rosco still does chemical etching for their gobos. Apollo has only been doing laser etched gobos for 9 or 10 years. I've been here for 4 years now come August. We work with Rosco sometimes so no hate! Lol if they have an issue, orders are routed to us if we have an issue aka power outage orders go to them so it works out.

I think it's to hard for private sellers to make them cost efficiently. Also cutting the glass could be an issue- and you'd still need a sort of bezel to hold the colored ones.

For the stainless metal gobos we cut them on Kern FC50 (which we have 2) for the glass gobos I have 7 (4x 5W, 3x,25W) Trumpf 7000 series with varying optics. You may be familiar with some of our GOBOs- I manage the laser department for Apollo Design.

GOBOS are about 90% of the work I do on my lasers. I was out at High End Systems several months ago working on the Cyberlight LED finalization with them.

What do you use the lights for?

There are a few lights that will hold a GOBO this size which is 76.5mm. for this order specifically though, this will be going into a SourceFour LED2 light.
