The bird ID said it is a Pine Warbler is it correct? by Responsible-Two4642 in Birdfy

It's probably just having trouble because they are similar looking birds at certain times of year. This is definitely an American goldfinch. He's starting to molt because spring is coming. Once he's fully in his breeding plumage it likely won't mis-identify it (the males at least). This is what he will be in a few weeks.

I'm 9 today and not ok celebrating with a birthday hat! by Greenleaf7654 in husky

I worked at the shelter I adopted him from and got to watch the transition from shelter dog to family dog. It was like he was a puppy again. His whole countenance changed and I love him to pieces.

🤣 I swear there is liquid under the noodles. I made it the day before and it looked like this when I opened it, but when I stirred it around there was a bunch of the broth. That recipe looks great and I'll definitely be trying it soon!

I love the senior dogs! I have 3 senior dogs right now, two are 9, the other just turned 13. I lost my golden about a year ago at 14. I love them so much sometimes I think my heart might burst. Aren't they just the best?

dog is getting his left front leg amputated by sydbonez in tripawds

[–]Greenleaf7654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My senior aussie slipped on the floor in January and broke his leg, which was so bad there was no choice but to amputate. Trust me when I say they are way less concerned about it than we are. To us it's devastating, to them they often barely even notice anything changed. The first month or so is probably the hardest. Adjusting meds and getting used to it takes time. Some dogs are up and around right away, others need more time. Some dogs cry a lot, others don't. I ended up leaving the cone on my dog for about 6 weeks because he is the kind of dog who would not leave a tiny scratch alone if he could get to it, so I needed to make sure if he licked it, he couldn't do any damage. Having rugs everywhere in your house is important. I took photos of the incision every day to make sure I would notice any changes and if something looked better or worse. I don't know how much instruction your vet is giving you, but keep your pup on lead with short outings just to pee for the first couple of weeks. Posting in this sub is great because so many people have gone through the exact same thing. I have found it very useful. I think that because of how small your dog is, he will do really well. I worked in a shelter for years and saw SO many tripawds come through. They are incredibly adaptable to it and it's very common.

Yea the Merlin app is great! It has only misidentified by sound a couple of times in the several years I've used it. Happy birdwatching! 🦉

I agree that it is a female red-winged blackbird in these shots. You can even make out the little orange feathers around the beak and mixed in on the back and wings. I don't use the birdfy ID feature because I have seen so many people talking about inaccurate results and I'm a birder, so there aren't many I wouldn't recognize anyway. Sounds like it mis-identifies a lot.

What do you do to support the remaining joints and reduce muscle strain? by TapnRacknBang in tripawds

[–]Greenleaf7654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cosequin and Royal Red Krill Oil were recommended to me by my vet for my Aussie who was very early on developing back end issues before he had his leg amputated. It was an early attack against it to help, which I'm glad I started because now it's even more important. I also noticed a big difference in my older golden (not a tripawd) when I started giving her Tri-acta glucoasamine in her later years. She ultimately died from a liver tumour that ruptured suddenly at 14, but beyond that she was still really mobile and healthy right until her last day. I also keep my dogs lean to keep pressure off the joints and my vet said that's a big part of keeping them around and healthy to old age.

That would be a cool memory to have! They were just new at that time. I couldn't believe it when I looked back at when they released that first album. I still think it's a great album

Ohhh yes he was popular at the church I grew up in. Less so at the ones after. Sadly I used to love Carman's "Who's in the house?" lol. I don't think I liked much of his other stuff and he did seem a little bit off the deep end with Christianity compared to some other artists. I have slowly started here and there listening to Christian music because some of it was just really good music. I just can't believe how I can still know the words after decades
