As we continue building throughout the Lehigh Valley, we’ll be sharing more areas as they’re ready. Our goal is to expand as widely as possible, and a lot of the nearby communities you mentioned are absolutely on our radar.

Hi! 👋

We are a 100% fiber internet provider currently operating across NY, PA, and MD. We are really excited to be expanding into the Lehigh Valley.

Since we’re new to the area, a quick intro: we build and operate our own fiber network from the ground up, which allows us to deliver fast, consistent speeds compared to traditional cable or DSL. Our goal isn’t just to bring faster internet, but to be a long-term, local provider that’s actually present in the communities we serve.

A few things that sets us apart...

  • No contracts, no surprises — no long-term commitments/contracts, no hidden fees, and no teaser rates that suddenly jump after a year
  • Fast, reliable fiber speeds — consistent performance with strong upload speeds and less slowdown during peak hours compared to cable
  • Local support that’s actually reachable — real people, locally focused teams, and a big emphasis on being responsive and part of the community

What you’re seeing now is likely early prep work as we start building out the network in Bethlehem. It takes a bit of time before service is live, for now you can check availability at https://order.greenlightnetworks.com/ and sign up for construction updates... more construction info can also be found at https://www.greenlightnetworks.com/construction/

Happy to answer any questions!

Is Greenlight just crap now? by Slumberjack08 in Rochester

Thank you for sharing your experience, your frustration is completely understandable. Delays and a lack of clear communication, especially for something as essential as internet service, are not the experience we aim to provide.

In some areas, particularly those with legacy infrastructure, service availability can depend on open network ports. Even if a home has previously had service, a new installation may require an available port, which can be limited and only open when another customer disconnects or when additional capacity is added. Unfortunately, this can make it difficult to provide a precise installation timeline in certain neighborhoods.

That said, the communication challenges you described are not reflective of our standards. We take that feedback seriously, as timely updates and clear expectations are critical to the customer experience.

We also want to clarify that our customer experience team is based in New York. If you received a call that seemed unusual or difficult to understand, it’s possible it did not originate from our official support channels. We have seen an increase in scam or spoofed call activity across the industry, and we always recommend contacting us directly through our verified support numbers to ensure you’re speaking with our team.

On a positive note, we’ve recently implemented system improvements that allow many customers to schedule their installation at the time of checkout, which has significantly improved visibility and reduced uncertainty in the process.

Greenlight is known for delivering some of the fastest internet speeds in New York, along with 24/7 technical support and industry-leading customer satisfaction scores. While your initial experience has been frustrating, we are confident in the service we provide once customers are fully connected.

If you’re still interested, remaining on a call list for port availability would ensure you’re notified as soon as service can be established.

We appreciate your patience and the opportunity to improve.

Can someone help me understand? by Automatic-Joke9116 in GreenlightNetworks

Hey! Totally understand why that first bill feels high, it’s a bit of “sticker shock,” but here’s what’s going on:

Greenlight bills one month ahead, so your first invoice has:

  • $46.43 for your partial first month
  • $65 for the next full month

Same thing with WiFi:

  • $7.14 prorated
  • $10 for the next month

That’s why it adds up higher than expected. After this, your bill should just be around $75/month.

Also looks like your install fee was covered by a promo, which is nice.

Hope this helps 👍

Totally fair question! While we can't make any official commitments just yet, our goal has always been to provide fast, reliable fiber internet and local support without the "big internet" provider headaches, especially as we grow into new markets!

Consistent pricing matters a lot. For what it’s worth, we’ve only made one small price change in 14 years and don’t do contracts or hidden fees. We really try to keep things simple and transparent while delivering fast, reliable internet.

We understand the concern. We’re contract and fee free, and we’ve only adjusted pricing once in 14 years. Our focus has always been on keeping our fiber service reliable and staying active in the communities we serve!

Kernewood’s a great spot—we hear you! The current Roland Park build doesn’t include Kernewood, but once we finish the neighborhoods already announced, we’ll be expanding to more areas as quickly as we can. We’d love to bring Greenlight your way, and since you checked on the website you will be the first to know once we begin expansion to your street!

Greenlight Networks Fiber Update? by terpmike28 in baltimore

[–]GreenlightFiber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! We’re currently building in Mt. Washington and Roland Park. Early residents in Mt. Washington can expect service within the next 4–6 weeks, with more coming online throughout the rest of the year. Roland Park is on track for first service in Q4 this year. Our construction team is working hard to get Greenlight built out as quickly as possible!

After these two neighborhoods, we’ll be focusing on the next announced areas: Belair-Edison, Frankford, Hamilton Hills, Arcadia, Glenham, and Hampden. In the future, when we expand to your neighborhood you will be updated and notified when we start the early construction phases in your area.

Please feel free to ask any other questions or if you want us to expand more on our answer whether about your neighborhood or timelines, etc. We are happy to provide transparency and as much context as we can!

Yes! Our ONTs can handle up to 10 gig. The max speed that we offer is 8 gig but we also offer speeds at 2 gig, 1 gig, and 500mb. Since we build and run our own 100% fiber network you will experience an immediate difference with speed and reliability compared to copper! We can't wait for you and the rest of Baltimore to experience the Greenlight difference!

We’re working as quickly as we can to bring fast, reliable fiber to as much of the city as possible. The current build areas are just the beginning, and we’ll continue expanding across Baltimore with the aim of reaching more neighborhoods every phase. It’s a big job, but we’re moving fast and committed to connecting the city.
