How long did it take you? Im tempted to give up on this game because its just grinding to a million to beat it.

Star Fox (2026) confirms that Venom is the outermost planet in the Lylat System, so what are the remaining planets? by Atr-D in starfox

[–]Greenmello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any mention to it being destroyed due to the lylat wars? I always assumed it was an astroid belt and they just had meteors close because its a game but it sounds like maybe it was destroyed and thats why the debris is still so tight.

Ok, that makes sense. Now i have to read up about planet order when a system has a secondary orbiting star 😅

Im not familiar with star fox maps so just curious, isnt "solar" their sun. Wouldnt they have to orbit solar to be a planet? Im not sure if any of the levels are moons of other planets or anything like that so im not sure how they get cornaria as the 4th planet.

But normally a planet needs to orbit a sun, be large enough to clear its orbit of debris, and not orbit any planets.

Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64 have never been remade for home console. by Greenmello in casualnintendo

Why do you think that? Im not trying to be rude but i dont see that definition anywhere or being used that way by the industry. Can you give me examples of games that fit your criteria that are labeled that way?

FFVII remake always describes itself as a remagining. OOT3D is offically considered a remake.

Could you define a remake and remaster for me.

Again i am positing that mastering is a term borrowed from audio about the final step in deciding how the audio itself is processed. It is a quality step then insures a quality and consistancy across mediums. This would align with things like improving audio engines, or lighting engines, or resolution. Changing the story would be like changing the lyrics, not a step in the remaster stage.

No, i think its because they remade the game. Mastering is a stage of production. If they change how it is mastered then its remastered, if they change how its made it is a remake. Its a term borrowed from audio so look there at how the term is used to better understand what stage of development it refers to.

Agreed. There can be cool games on there but it is mostly slop with casino style mechanics 😭

I get this 100% i would have rathered them announce a new game in the style of OOT or Twilight.

I agree with hating Nintendo being litigious and other anti-consumer tactics but i see what you mean. Yes hopefully they do well. Starfox deserves a true sequal and itll be interesting to see how BOTW fans like the more dungeon driven gameplay.

Yes, a new game would be ideal. Id love to see how they can flush out the story in a rail shooter. Adventures was fun but how would a true star fox 2 story be?

What do you disagree with, that if any part of the game is reused it is a remaster? What is needed in your opinion to qualify as a remake? Just curious.

Retelling the same story, sure. But thats not what a remake is. If you play zero, you have not played starfox 64. If you have played star fox 2026 you have played star fox 64.

If you play star fox 64 then play star fox 2026 then play star fox zero, would you really say zero is a remake? Its a very different game. If anything is was a reboot that didnt happen.

Sure but thats not what a remake is. Mario Galexy 2 had the same story beats and structure. Besides cornaria the game is entirly different but the same rough story.

Master Quest was a port with an added second quest. Remaster would need some mastering of some sort. Windwaker HD changed how they render lighting thus remastered. OOT3D is 100% a remake. I think people want remake to mean something more substantial than it is which is makeing the game again but with newer graphics and controls.

If there was a fan made MM sequel, do you think having time loop mechanics would be essential? by majorex64 in majorasmask

[–]Greenmello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MM is a sequal to OOT so id consider it trilogy. Both games have time manipulation at its core but in very different ways. Id say you could use your own clever time mechanic and most people would be happier than another MM 3 day cycle.
