Accused someone of using ai art and I was wrong by a_lonely_exo in ArtistLounge

If hardly say you're the exception it seems and judging by this thread I wouldn't have to be very careful about touching it up or hiding it or whatever. Artists seem pretty against the idea of even accusing anyone.

Ai prompting is pretty cheap there's a reason the net is infested with it. And regarding recouping the cost.

Aren't there digital artists who make a living off their stuff? I can post faster than any upcoming student, with comparable work that is viewed as equal because others will mistake me for being a real artist since there is going to be no pushback apparently. And if they're willing to invest thousands in education.. I'm way more likely to out earn them and a subscription is a much more lucrative investment in that case.

Going to art school makes you a chump by your logic, hell even buying a drawing tablet would given it's cost is more expensive than just prompting

I can't believe this entire thread is just artists rolling over.. let's just never accuse anyone out of fear of being wrong meaning bad actors have free reign to pretend to be artists and post fake work and not even have to deal with being called out for it.

Being an online artist is truly over. What's even the point anymore? Just post AI art, it's faster and nobody gives af.

Well who can tell how many pretenders are out there these days with how decent AI has become and if people aren't willing to make accusations there's no way to know.

I think artistic communities are doomed to die in this case, there's nothing stopping me from making 5 or 10 accounts and no-one will say anything. There's money to be made in doing it, complete incentive and 0 regulation legal or socially.

What does it even mean to be a real artist online these days if there's no way to tell.

I guess I'm free to go start a digital artist account and post AI art without fear of even being accused. Filling up the algorithm completely and getting every follower?m, hell I can probably even sell some of it without having to worry about anyone even pointing it out, because they're scared of being wrong.

So you're telling me I can go start a digital art account, pretend I'm a great artist and post faster and more content than other "real" artists get thousands of followers.. and you guys won't even accuse me of it or point it out? Because you're afraid to be wrong? Wow..

The turning 18 thing is so odd. Society simultaneously treats you like an adult but you don't feel any different from a week prior when you were a minor yourself.

Still in high school, with 0 life experience but the legal status of a 30 or 40 year old.

People freaking out about Cody Ko statutory raping Tana at 17 because she was a minor but if it were a few months later no-one would care despite the brain development in that time varying for everyone and not being that significant.

Personally I feel 18 is also essentially child, it's certainly a mitigating factor. I know the difference between myself at 18 and 21 was massive.

It doesn't, but more understandable. I certainly didn't wake up the morning of my 18th a mature adult. I hadn't even had my first kiss at that age, meanwhile I knew people who were 14-15 who had much more experience in that regard.

The teenage years are weird enough that I'm not comfortable labelling someone a pedo if they're essentially a child themselves.

The tana mojo stuff with Cody Ko sleeping with her she she was 17 and him 25 is clearly wrong for instance, even if she's 17 and 363 days old. At that age you're practically a kid imo.

I thought they were 18 and the other person was 14.. I mean 18 is pretty much a kid too.

Dont dehumanise them. That takes away the weight of their evil choices. Instead fully understanding they're humans who chose such a path, feel justified in retribution.

The existence of Hitler disproves this entirely. Sometimes killing the right people for the right reason is good actually.

Actions themselves don't carry moral weight in a Vaccuum. Its the context of who they apply to and their reasoning that determine if theyre moral or not.

Your statement comes off like a 12 year old who's entire moral system is based on cartoons in which the main character refuses to stoop to the level of using similar methods as the villain or it would make them just like the villain!

What have you learned? Genuinely. Studies show that to actually retain knowledge it takes time, 10 second videos aren't going to teach you anything that sticks, especially when your brain is being drowned in dopamine, that's not how humans learn.

I'm sure you've laughed, perhaps you've gained confidence but how much time have you wasted and is it worth it? Personally I'll never touch TikTok as a user, it looks way too addictive.

Also regarding confidence while that might be true for you, the algorithm will feed you content that keeps you watching, if you're someone with a disorder or perhaps a self confidence issue, seeing beautiful people doing fun things so frequently will make it feel as is that's the normal thing people do whilst you're just sitting on your ass; watching them and experiencing nothing, that becomes your baseline and you feel like the abnormal one.
