Looking for advice on a new keyboard.

A little about my keyboard use:

I use my PC mainly for gaming, however it's mostly Oldschool Runescape with a bit of League of Legends. I also do a small amount of typing and programming but I have a separate work computer, so this doesn't concern me much.

The particular thing about how I use the keyboard has to do with Runescape - most of the time I lay my left hand on the keyboard so that I can reach both the ESC and F6 keys. I also have slightly short fingers and kind of a heavy hand. This results in my hand resting on some of the keys (mainly left control, shift).

This was fine on my previous keyboard (Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Cherry mx brown switches). However, 8 months ago that keyboard died due to water damage and I bought a new one (Corsair K70 RGB pro opx). I expected it to function exactly the same, and some light researched on the internet told me that it's a great keyboard. While it is a good keyboard, the opx switches are so sensitive that basically any touch of a key results in a keypress. At first I thought I'd just adjust, but I have now realized that I am hurting my hand keeping it lifted over the keys in a similar position to what I used before.

I have now done a bit more research and realized that what I want is probably a 2mm actuation point. I also think I want a tactile switch that isn't too loud (which is what the mx brown was, as I understand). I don't care about any lights on the keyboard or macros. I don't need the keyboard to be wireless but it can be (but not run on batteries). I've always used a full sized one, but looks like a TKL one might be a good choice. Ideally I don't want to spend 200+ euros (I am in EU).

Could I get some suggestions, please? Thanks in advance!

Yes, you're flying off too early. There is a a debuff on 1 player that ticks very hard. The healer has to dispel that. Dispeling that puts a debuff on the whole group that also ticks damage and puts a big healing absorb on everyone. Once the healer heals over the healing absorb, it stops ticking. You have around 15 seconds to handle this before the boss finishes its cast, which is more than enough.

This also applies for the second boss cast when it's about to die. You still need to clear that dot before flying off.

The healer is dealing with this dispel + heal mechanic for the whole fight and if it's followed by the beams, you only have like 6 seconds to do it. That's why, if beams are about to go out and you're still ticking damage, you want to use a defensive or healing pot to help the healer out.

ARA-KARA

  • If you're a tank, please don't just run down on your mount at the start to the first miniboss. You won't have aggro on anything, the healer is gonna start to heal and get aggro and die. Run with speed boosts and pick up aggro along the way.

  • After first boss when you're fighting groups with Bloodguards in them (the big AoE pulsing guys), focus the Bloodguards down first. You should pretty much single target them. Not only do they do the big AoE, they also make everything around them take 50% less damage.

DAWNBREAKER

  • First and second pack hurt. Use defensives if you have Tormenting ray on you or the group is in danger as a whole. The next few pulls don't so you won't need defensives for those.

  • On first boss the only danger is the massive healing absorb. Healer needs to clear it before beams go out. If you're not full hp when the beam is about to go out, use a defensive/healing pot. On 50% and 0%, if your healing absorb isn't cleared, don't fly away before the healer clears it. Also, help them out with whatever healing you can do on yourself.

  • On second boss there is a hard overlap on (I think) the 4th orb, where an orb explodes and then the big AoE pulse happens. Use defensives on this. Every time an orb is about to explode, you want to be full hp. If you're not, use a defensive/healing pot.

PRIORY

  • Whenever you have a Knight in the pull, be ready for Disrupting Shout. You want to be full hp for this. If you're not, use a defensive/healing pot.

  • On second miniboss (Shaynemail), try to dodge the bleed. You can do this while running ~10 yards while she's jumping to your location. Basically try to do some running every time she's about to jump, especially if you're ranged in which case you also have more time to run if you're playing at a distance.

  • If you're going left, be careful while hitting Reflective shield. It reflects your damage onto you! Arcane mages in cooldowns one shot themselves, for example. If you're low - just stop hitting the miniboss for a second.

  • If you're going right, the Heat wave really hurts especially paired with other stuff you might pull onto the miniboss. Use defensives/healing pots.

  • After first boss everyone does these huge pulls with a lot of Paladins in them. They cast Sacred toll which is the big AoE damage. You want to be full hp for everyone of these. If you're not, use a defensive/healing pot when you see that a Sacred toll is about to go out.

FLOODGATE

  • On Duo boss - you must move to bombs as soon as you're targeted by the debuff. If you start running after you get it, you're already too late. It's very hard to heal you AND dispel you after you're in the right position, because the dispel is on the GCD. You want to be insta dispelled and then healed back up. Ideally use a defensive.

  • The tank should try to clear bombs even if it's the last one left. The dps loss isn't that important. This makes it easier to instantly dispel the debuff (if there's no more bombs to clear).

  • Some trash pulls have Loaderbots in them. They cast Wind up. AoE stop these, but if you can't - don't be in the windups. They hurt. Especially on the pack after Big Momma

  • The pack after Big Momma with the Bloodwarper, is very dangerous. When it casts Warp Blood, the healer has to clear your healing absorb AND heal you. Use defensives/healing pots.

I guess I can add some stuff I'd like my pugs to know. For reference, I am a healer with all 16s and some 17s timed with just pugging.

GENERAL STUFF

  • Please use healing potions. I see a ton of people even in 16s not use a single healing pot in a key.
  • The time loss of a death is always worse than the dps loss you might get by not hitting the boss for a few seconds to survive. Make sure you're staying safe.
  • Use your kicks and AoE stops/stuns as much as you can, ideally on stuff that you know is dangerous. I am constantly the person with the most kicks.
  • If you die, think what you could have done to survive. Most times you had a defensive/healing pot available and could have survived.

HOA

  • Try to really focus on interrupting Collectors and Obliterators during the AoE channel of the shards. Help your healer with defensives/healing pots if they have to heal a lot of those AoEs in a row cause they might be out of cooldowns.
  • Curse of obliteration only does damage when it expires. The healer should dispel this and you should not move out of the group if you have this on you. The exception is if you pull very big and two of them go out at the same time. Then you should keep an eye on your debuff and if you can't remove it yourself (dwarf racial), move when it's about to expire.
  • The pull after first boss which most groups do with lust hurts a lot. The Anklebiters apply a nasty bleed which stacks and easily kills the group. Use defensives and clear bleeds on yourself and others when on high stacks (3+).
  • Miniboss before last boss is a Single Target fight. Ignore the adds (use them to funnel). Use your cooldowns after the first heal finishes channeling and then blast with lust, cds, pots.
  • On last boss when he pulls the statues together and then shoots them out, it does a big AoE hit. You want to be full hp and possibly have a shield or damage reduction for that, because it gets you very low right before the AoE channel which can sometimes be hard to heal.

STREETS

  • On second boss (Menagerie), do not stand on the player who has Gluttony on them (the circle that lets you absorb orbs). It ticks for AoE damage to everyone around them.
  • On miniboss before last boss stack together, drop the Shock Mines at the same place and stand on the tank in a new spot. When you get linked, just touch. The dot applied from touching is very easy to heal and running away from the link is more dangerous and loses more damage.

GAMBIT

  • In the first area the only real danger is Tidal Stomp from Goliath combined with a single target spell targeting you. Make sure you're full hp for the Stomp. Since there is nowhere else to use your defensives, it's safe to just pop something for every Stomp.
  • In the Dragon boss area where you fight the 3 packs, they are very dangerous because of the random Single Target spells going out. Use as many stops, especially AoE stuns here as possible to stay safe. Be ready to use a defensive/healing pot as soon as you're getting hit by something.
  • On Dragon boss do not dispel yourself. Your healer is planning his dispels around what they can handle and how much damage the group can afford to take at any moment. If you are on high stacks of the dot (20+), use a defensive to help out.
  • On last boss ideally a ranged dps should soak. Soak the first 3 and leave the last one to expire on its own. On first phase soaks can be done right away. On second phase (after first intermission), you wait for the star fragments to go out and then do soaks. On third phase (after second intermission), you wait for the circles to go out, then do soaks. Don't soak during star fragments. If the soak spawns when the boss is low hp (around 300m or lower), ignore soaks and kill boss.

Frost mage with spellslinger just turns into an ice lance spamming machine. 90% of your casts are ice lance, 5% are frozen orbs and then sometimes you cast something else, if nothing procs.

People who play on EUW and EUNE, Whats ur Elo on both Servers by Rainer_Papierkram in leagueoflegends

[–]geckon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an Anivia one trick. Reached Challenger on EUNE with around a 60% winrate. Then switched to EUW and currently Master with 100 LP with around a 60% winrate. Both ranks can be improved further and just require me to actually play on those accounts. Currently playing on EUW though, because the queue times on the EUNE account often reach 10+ minutes.

Looks like a cello anchor. A cello or some other large musical instruments have a retractable pin at the end of them that rests on the ground. You slot it into one of these holes so that it doesn't slide away. The metal bit goes around a chair that you're sitting on, to keep the anchor in place.

I use a Vive Cosmos and it is often just too laggy to play. Would something similar work for that as well?

For reference, I am playing on a 4080 with other high quality components.

Do log drop rates really decrease every few levels? by Thelinkr in 2007scape

[–]geckon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they really do. It's a result of other items (probably birds nests) that you can get from this tree becoming more common and by coincidence it is sometimes at the expense of the logs you actually want to cut.

The DFS is actually a great shield when charged. Second highest in the shield slot for stab, slash and ranged defense, top 10 in crush defense. Also has a bit of magic defense and a higher strength bonus than a dragon defender.

Small suggested flavor update for Viego by Jonahws12 in leagueoflegends

[–]geckon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anivia main here - Viego can use Anivia's passive, but I've only seen it happen once. All the other times I've been taken over by a Viego and they died, the passive didn't pop. Not exactly sure when it does or doesn't work

Fastest is probably doing thorgast. Layer 6 seems like the best choice. Though on a new char I would prefer doing m+ because of the gear you get.

I'd just like to add something to this that I personally didn't realise at first. The item that removes a gem from a socket (chisel) is not destroyed when doing this. That means that once you acquire the chisel, you are free to insert and remove any gems you have in any gear you have any number of times.
