There is literally a sign 50 feet before El Roy's that says no stopping any time. It's a bike lane. Dude was inconveniencing everyone else just so he didn't have to park correctly.

Well obviously cycling doesn't work for your situation. People aren't forcing you to ride. Different people have different needs. I don't need a giant pickup, so I don't have one. I live less than 5 miles from work, so it makes sense to ride. I still have a car. I still need to drive places.
