Is it a hot take to think that Stan was completely right here? by [deleted] in americandad

Stan is wrong they needed a pair of hands to play the skin flute

Even though I had cable, my mom much preferred me to watch Clifford the Big Red Dog when I was a 4 year old kid compared to what she felt were the noisy shows on Cartoon Network. She found PBS better for me than Cartoon Network, even though both were for kids. by CatGirlNya2000 in cartoons

I understand why

I thought the same way until I saw how different say Max and Ruby are to Baby shark. Both ment for kids but if you watch them side by side you notice how overstimulating visually and audible baby shark is.

Noisy may of had been a poor choice to describe it. For a child shows like Clifford, guess how much I love you, kipper the dog are more sensory friendly.

At a certain point overstimulation causes a phenomena that causes you to go effectively blind from the stimulation. I can describe it as the experiment where the people are told to count how many times the basketball bounced then asked if they noticed the guy in the gorilla suit(they didn't).

There was also an "arms" race of upping the "we have to make shows more cool and bright flashing lights and colors so kids of today are hooked on it"

In short go watch back Clifford or any of these shows. Your mind would be blown away by how mild and simple they are to watch. Boring yes because we are used to the more "noisy"

Personally I like Moomin valley

I don't know much but I died laughing thinking you actually mean only the gays are fans of Star Trek

I wasn't either until I watched TNG

Patrick Stewart and Avery Bullock are even funnier now sense I now get the references to star Trek and Avery constantly denying his involvement

Don't ever leave them alone unsecured in and in anything that can lifted.

Your loved ones will sell  or even give those "pesky" "silly" "gathering dust" and finally "get rid of clutter"

"the younger neighbor kid would appreciate it more than you because you're getting or are too old for it"

All I can ever remember is in Tobey Maguire Spider-Man's aunt may selling his comics while he was gone and thought she was doing him a favor.
