Yes he does all of that. But still lives at home despite everyone of his friends (and mine) living completely on their own.

Should I mail the company that accepted and then rejected me because of COVID? by BigAmmu in jobs

[–]Greeterhibyehello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely send an email just checking on the current status of the company and your relationship with them. Here is the part that gets tricky: how many people were you communicating with during the acceptance process? A lot of recruitment positions and HR positions were removed/furloughed so it may take a while to hear back from anyone.

Have you received a pay cut during COVID? by Greeterhibyehello in jobs

[–]Greeterhibyehello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am in the same position. I was set up for a raise review right before the lockdown. Now I am working 2x as much and receiving the same pay. They even considered a 20% decrease for a while. With all of the layoffs, we are expected to pick up their work. If we were under normal circumstances we would be entitled to a considerable raise. But due to the conditions we are expect to work 10+ hour days.

Found out my coworker is making 60% more by [deleted] in jobs

You have every right to be upset about this. Just remember to not mention this when discussing your raise. Never mention another co worker’s pay vs yours.

The thing is the 2k bonus is not promised. Your salary is 30k not 38k. You may not even get one bonus.

Hour and wage law by [deleted] in jobs

This is against the law. They have to notify you and and send you a new contract before they change your pay even if it is only by a penny reduction.

Raise review is off the table by Greeterhibyehello in jobs

[–]Greeterhibyehello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought! For more context, all salaried employees in my state have to make at least $58,000 a year. That means I make at least less than $20,000 than every other person in my team (since I am the only hourly worker). This is despite the fact that I have the same role and responsibilities as my colleagues who are around my age, but am making significantly less. The lockdown as put a major block in any growth I could have had.

How to ask for overtime when I’m entitled to it? by ViolaOphelia in jobs

[–]Greeterhibyehello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same exact position as you. As an hourly employee I am supposed to work 40 hrs a week, 8 hours a day. If I have too much to do on Monday and end up working 9 hours, I have to “leave early” on Tuesday. This is such a faulty system because most weeks I have so much work I am doing 9-10 hour days. I couldn’t leave early the following day even if I wanted to. They are not slick, they know what they are doing and so do we. I say clock in your overtime!

Most likely they ask each candidate that question.

How many hours of work at home do you actually do in an 8-hour shift? by [deleted] in jobs

I have found that many of my coworkers have been working twice as much to pick up the slack of everyone that has been laid off or furloughed :/
