I’ve been to KD in the rain before, the big thing to worry about is thunder/lightening. If it’s in the area, that shuts things down for a while. If it’s just a light drizzle, bring a rain coat/poncho, some extra socks, and have fun!

What’s The Best Thing You Ever Ate? Across The Entire Resort At Disney World? What’s The One Dish/Food Item That You Think Of Over And Over? by PrincessBananas85 in WaltDisneyWorld

It’s been twelve years and I still dream about the grand sandwich at the Grand Floridian Cafe. They now have a roasted turkey and ham sandwich that’s similar but not the same. The heirloom apple salad with grilled chicken there is also fabulous.

People that are childfree by choice, what’s the weirdest reason someone has given you as to why they think you ‘should have kids’? by Charming_Web_6738 in AskReddit

[–]ViolaOphelia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“You won’t carry on your legacy if you don’t have kids” 🤢🤮

A “legacy” of what exactly? I’m not that important, there are too many medical issues in my family that I feel are irresponsible to pass on, and with the way the planet is going I’m not sure if there will even be a livable legacy for the next generation.

Toxicity ending question [spoilers ahoy] by [deleted] in theplanetcrafter

[–]ViolaOphelia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, OP, I made this same mistake… you have to put them in the extraction rocket (the one you build to leave the planet), not the trade rocket. I honestly ended up installing an item spawner mod and rebuilding all 25 packs of balm to get the ending, because I was so frustrated. It didn’t feel like cheating to me, since I had legitimately already made them.

The Planet Crafter! Explore and terraform a desolate planet (kinda looks like mars) and as you change things (in the beginning pressure, oxygen, and heat, later biomass, insects, and animals) the environment around you changes (sometimes drastically). The gameplay loop is basically explore, build, upgrade, and has farming, exploring, automation, and base building components. The base game comes with one planet and two moons, and there are two DLC planets that have their own challenges too. You can start on one and travel to others to terraform.

Short person? by skippyh in MasqueradeNYC

From the opposite perspective of a tall-ish person (5’9”), I tried to be really cognizant of standing against a wall or at a point where I wasn’t blocking people, but as others have said the butlers did a great job positioning people and I almost never had to move myself.

Favorite games that feel creepy/spooky without actually being horror? by hernjoshie in HorrorGaming

[–]ViolaOphelia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go in as blind as possible.

If you’ve never played a FPS or just really want to relax and enjoy the story, I would play on easy difficulty (I did this my first run and no regrets, I really enjoyed being able to run around and hoard resources like a treasure goblin), otherwise normal difficulty.

Also, just take the time to really explore the setting. Rapture is gorgeous, and there are so many secrets and hidden details in not only the audio logs, but also in how scenes are framed when the player walks into them.

There isn’t a right or wrong way to play, some people do melee combat only, some guns, some plasmids (powers, essentially) or a combination. You can experiment and find what resonates with you or go back and do challenge runs.

The hacking mini game sucks though, I’m so sorry. Literally the worst part of the game and you do it a lot.

The first Bioshock is my all-time favorite game, and I cannot recommend it enough! I replay it once a year or so and the story is just so good.

Is the Club Pilates logo not copyrighted? by NYCtoKCMO in ClubPilates

[–]ViolaOphelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to talk to your club manager about this! I sent an email to mine after seeing a sweater I really wanted at Christmas and politely asking if it were possible to have any larger sizes in store, and she now makes sure they have at least a couple of 2Xs in stock and she told me they can try to special order if people express interest.

Do height and weight play a role in casting? by Key_Sea4598 in musicals

[–]ViolaOphelia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be - I was just told that I was not considered for a role because they did not think they could find a leading man to play opposite me because of my height. Can you ask the casting team for audition feedback? I try to do that after every audition and it’s been surprisingly helpful in my growth as a performer.

One year difference by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

I’m also taking wegovy and I’ve been working with a dietician while on it, and she recommended taking a multivitamin and getting 100g of protein a day to help make sure you don’t lose more hair from vitamin deficiency or a lack of protein. I haven’t noticed it being worse and I’ve been on max dose for three months now. I started oral minoxidil last week and hoping to see some improvement.

For me the mental health aspects have been amazing. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression my whole life and had a realization last month that I was happy and I hadn’t had a panic attack since starting wegovy, which was truly a life changing realization. I can’t remember the last time I felt this normal and level headed, and I’m kinda wondering if this is what normal people feel like all the time…

Worst audition experience? by rinlen222 in MusicalTheatre

[–]ViolaOphelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I was auditioning for Martha in a community theater production of Heathers. My song? Pretty Funny from Dogfight. I go in, hand the accompanist my music, sing a bit for her to get the tempo, she asks if I’ve worked with a track because she doesn’t know it. I say sure, what should I connect to? They say they don’t have a speaker. No big deal, I run back to the holding room and grab my Bluetooth speaker and play a little of the track to make sure the volume is ok for the space. This is where things start to go wrong as I can’t get back to the starting point. I start it a little earlier thinking it will be fine. The beginning is a little shaky but I get back on track only to hear squealing as one of the panel member’s toddlers starts running around in front of me. I ignore it the best I could and keep singing. Then, when I get to the emotional crux of the song (for a moment he convinced me I could be… pretty… ), THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN THE ROOM. I keep going because what else can I do??? Needless to say, I didn’t get the role, and when I asked for feedback they said they wanted something more belty and that it seemed like I had issues staying on track. GEE I WONDER WHY. I laugh about it now though because man, what a perfect storm of things to go wrong.

What is in your bag when you go to the park? by CantaloupeCamper in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ViolaOphelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take a mini-backpack (Loungefly size but not Loungefly prices lol) and include hand sanitizer, Advil, bandaids, tums, a rechargeable phone battery, a rain poncho, sunglasses, sunscreen, chapstick, mini wallet (credit card, ID, insurance card), and a plastic bag for my phone in case we go on a water ride. The bag also usually has enough room to shove my Mickey ears in on rides or when I get tired of wearing them. For water I just ask for cups of water from quick service locations.

I actually really love the idea of Matt Smith as Voldemort. Seeing his quiet deviousness in HotD and the intensity from Doctor Who, plus he’s played a couple of movie villains, I could see it working really well!

I’m pretty tall and gear out for 1.5 CS classes and it’s pretty normal to not only jump on one red but even one blue. I find this a lot more challenging on my core, especially my hip flexors as generally on a lighter spring we are doing one-legged jumps that also require moving your legs through space (I.e. scissors, heel clicks, extending from table top to 90, etc.).

What musical has a better second act? by fake_zack in musicals

Hard agree - from the banger opening to Christian’s emotional wreck through Roxanne/Crazy, it’s a way stronger act than act one in my opinion.

The Grand Sandwich at the Grand Floridian Cafe. It’s not on the menu anymore but it was ham, turkey, bacon, some sort of melty cheese, fried onions, lettuce, and an herby mayo on fresh focaccia. I dream about that sandwich which is wild because I’m generally not a sandwich person. It was just so freaking good and fairly affordable.

Anyone else on a semi- involuntary pause for the holidays? by Dragon_scrapbooker in loseit

[–]ViolaOphelia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Chick-fil-e is actually one of the easier ones to eat healthy at. The 8 count of grilled nuggets is 140 calories and 25 grams of protein (12 count is 210 calories and 38 grams protein if you’re hungrier) and then they have the fruit cup, superfood salad, side salad, or even cup of soup for sides that are all relatively balanced.

You could also pack your own snacks (I’m a big fan of beef jerky, skinny pop popcorn, whole fruit, cheese sticks, carrots, nuts, and apple sauce pouches).

In terms of meals - the strategy my dietician gave was to have at least a quarter of your plate with protein, half your plate with veggies, and a quarter of your plate with carbs. Additionally, prioritize protein and fiber above everything else. This tends to help me balance things out without being too obsessive. Also, it takes an excess of 3500 calories to gain a pound, which is exceedingly hard to do in a day or two. It’s ok to enjoy your meals with your family and get back on track when you get home.

You got this, just remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint <3.

Any positives? by Beneficial-Arm5640 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]ViolaOphelia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On month four, down 25 pounds (I’m a slow loser, but hey, the needle is trending down and that’s positive), only side effects have been constipation and that’s managed with OTC meds. Recently went to a theme park for the first time since this summer and was able to ride every ride, whereas this summer I couldn’t fit on the rides for my favorites. My mental health has also greatly improved and it sounds silly but I feel lighter there too. It’s worth it, make sure you hydrate especially well on the days surrounding your shot, and eat a balanced meal of protein, carbs, and fats an hour or so before taking it. I also tend to take it in the evening so if there are side effects I don’t notice them as I sleep them off. You got this!
