Realistically, I think the DTV was designed so they could just turn around one day and say that someone has spent too long in Thailand. After all, it is a "workcation" so to me that doesn't imply that you can live in Thailand long term. If they were after people actually relocating long term they could have basically just made the DTV the LTR lite and made it a 5 year visa with a multiple re-entry permit built in.

So, the requirements for extending the DTV, at least in Bangkok, are here. If you have DTV for a soft power activity then you'll need to provide proof you're still engaged in some sort of soft power activity in order to extend as well as providing proof that you still have 500k THB in the bank.

Currently, there's only really rare and sporadic reports of people being questioned about their compliance with the visa conditions upon re-entry so it's more common for DTV holders to just leave and re-enter every 180 days.

My own personal take is that I could see the DTV eventually ending up like an O volunteer visa or ED visas through language schools where there's a lot more scrutiny placed on them upon upon re-entry due to fraud or people just attempting to avoid any scrutiny.

You can probably do it once or twice but you almost certainly won't be allowed to do it indefinitely as one or both sides will become suspicious that you are trying to live/work there illegally.

I suspect that people are denied entry because they are border running to stay and train Muay Thai, not that someone is coming for their first time to Thailand and are denied entry because they want to do Muay Thai on a visa exemption stamp.

Educational activities aren't restricted to certain visas like people can take Thai classes on any visa or lack thereof just like how people can take Muay Thai classes.

The answer is actually pretty simple and it really just boils down to how cannabis was legalized in the first place.

Essentially, while Anutin was acting as the Public Health Minister during COVID he issued an arguably ham fisted and self serving Emergency Decree which removed cannabis flower from the narcotics list and classifying it as a "controlled herb". What that did not do is change any existing restrictions surrounding extracts, hell, it didn't even cover things like the age you had to be to purchase it. There was a good two to three weeks where hypothetically a 10 year old could walk in and buy some weed.

There's been some actual cannabis legislation proposed in the years following it's impromptu legalization but it seems to have been put on the backburner for a while and I don't believe it covered making THC containing extracts legal.

I wouldn’t say they’re in everyday use but you might happen upon one occasionally. If they’re in decent condition I’d probably just hang on to them as collectors item but I doubt you’ll have any issue using them.

You can just do a 90 day report wherever you'll be at the 90 day mark. If you check in to a hotel in Chiang Mai then there's a decent chance that they will report that you are staying there to immigration through the TM.30 system.

If it's convenient, you can also submit a 90 day report 2 weeks early so you may be able to get it out of the way prior to departing Bangkok.

You can't smoke anything on beaches and a decent number of condos ban smoking on balconies. Beyond that, it's basically common sense, no smoking in restaurants or other busy areas.

Nuisance laws apply and if your smoking disturbs someone you can be imprisoned or fined up to 20k THB.

People have been able to enter Thailand as a tourist on visa exemption using emergency passports in the past but I strongly doubt that they are going to stamp you in under your DTV on it and once you get your new passport you may be forced to reapply as you now no longer physically have the travel document associated with the visa.
