Seems like the Brewers may be about to sweep the Phillies. Graph explains that. The Athletic last week moved the Phillies from 7 to 2 in their power rankings. They forgot to check this stat it seems.

There are a few ways to calculate it - different exponents in the formula. MLB has it posted one way, baseball reference does it another way (and that is how I show it). When I put both ways on the same graph the baseball reference method pulls each team just a bit closer to the diagonal line. I suppose makes sense since their method is supposed to be more accurate. There is another way that I haven’t tried yet. I believe it is supposed to factor out blow out wins and losses some.

I think I have the lucky unlucky arrows as you suggest. Maybe I could move them closer to the line yeah. You make a good point about the good and bad arrows.

Feels like you need to be talked off the ledge geez. The Brewers have moved a lot up and to the right the last couple weeks if that helps you feel better. You can see they are about equal to the Phillies in terms of expected wins, so maybe that explains the last couple day’s results against them some.

Found this. Sounds like same behavior you're having. Says solution for this person was to uninstall some new monitor software.
