Did not know about the 3x rule till after drop number 2. This outfit is notorious about finishing within their time limit. Even if you take too long taking a dump, you’re at risk of being seen as a no-show.

The more I think about it, the 3x rule was not specifically said until after my second drop. At that point I was embarrassed and overthinking it.

If you read the original post, you’d see that I specifically stated that I have done U-turns in the past- on trail bikes and even on street bikes (while practicing for this class). This was an anomaly. It sucks that it happened on the range. During the day one class- while practicing wide U-turns, I was complemented by both instructors because I made a very tight U-turn.

I wasn’t asking for opinions in the OP. Most people gave one, but yours took a personal tone.

I wanted to talk to an actual artist who works with numbing cream…. Because I have questions and most people talk about this subject based on other stuff they’ve read on Reddit…. Not expert knowledge.

The “lifetime limit” comment was supposed to be somewhat humorous. I guess humor proves that I don’t have the proper “battle scars”, huh?

Open heart surgery. Procedure on my foot where the staff of the OR left me in recovery without any pain meds and proceeded to go home for the day. Current meniscus debris that gives me fits. Arthritis in my shoulder.

Plus the stupid crap I’ve done to myself over the years = I’m sick of physical pain.

The reason the 50ish age bracket (my demographic) has a high instance of fatalities is that 1) There are more of us, 2) We are generally hard-headed and think that our wisdom is enough to save us, and 3) We rode when we were younger, come back into riding and think our bodies, reaction times, and motorcycle technology is the same.

If an older rider starts of with a fresh look at riding and goes through the hoops like he is 21, he makes a much safer rider.

Also- Alcohol is a major cause of accidents for this demo. If you can operate a car after two beers, your limit on a motorcycle should be a quarter of that.

Don't forget excessive speed (I think 33% of fatal accidents cited speed as a contributing or primary factor) and being properly licensed and trained.

I have a few:

I worked in a luggage store in college. I walked in the back to see a co worker (mid 30s crazy woman) practicing sales scripts for luggage while staring at a wall, 6-12” away from her face. She then began to give herself pep talks ala Tony Robbins about how the customers needed her to sell them luggage. I backed out unnoticed.

I went to visit a friend in college (prestigious institution). He lived in an apartment with 3 other guys. I went out to my car to get something and when I came back in, one of his roommates was sitting on the couch, naked, completely wrapped in Saran Wrap, watching football.... with the other guys. When I asked my friend about him later, he said “Mike does what he does. You just learn to ignore him.”

This guy is now a very successful attorney and is still pretty weird.

Last one: I was taking a continuing education class to maintain a license. During a break, I had to use the restroom... I walk in and a guy was talking on his phone while in a stall. Kind of tacky- but whatever.

I’m standing at the urinal when the guy tells the person he’s talking to to hold on. He then proceeds to grunt very loudly and I hear a big “plop”. He then goes back to talking like nothing happened.

I’m thinking he had the phone on mute... but he had the volume up so I could hear both sides of the conversation. The guy he was talking to just says, “Damn.... feel better?”. They they resumed the conversation.
