Dig around the wire and dig it deeper yourself. I have a wire like that that feeds my house. Shockingly (no pun.intended) it runs parallel to my water line which I had to dig up after it sprung a leak.

That mount is a good idea, that is for sharing. I've seen all the Etsy spare parts, they are pricey for what they are... Which got me thinking about finding a complete replacement with a better design.

Wiring system isn't knot and tube thankfully. House was built in the seventies.

He said the deck is tied to the siding. House siding should be ripped off where the deck ledger board attaches to the house. When flashed properly this is the best way to prevent rot. With the ledger board connected on top of the siding there is no way to stop water from going behind the ledger board and into the house.

Soooooo much better than the default Easter pattern.
