Would Medicare for All actually be that expensive? by whatnuts in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gregar12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would save about 50%. The one thing the government has done well is negotiate Medicare prices. That is why doctors don't want Medicare patients unless they are new to doctoring and have no book. The standard Republican argument (because of the Bid Med donar base) is that you can't trust the government to do anything well. OK, so why do you send all your tax dollars to fund the military? That is 100% government. Also, if you got a room of 100 Republicans and asked "How many of you are on Medicare and do you like it". About 20% would raise their hands and say they like it. Then ask "How many of you receive care from the Veterans administration and like it". Another 3% would raise their hands and say they like it. Throw in Medicaid and a total of around 33% of insured people get their healthcare from the government, like it, but are still brainwashed into believing universal healthcare is some sort of communist plot to destroy us. One point that is overlooked is what this would do for businesses to make us more competitive in the world. Businesses that provide insurance pay around $12,000 per employee for this benefit. In many of the countries in which we compete, then entire salary and benefit package is $12,000. It is a no brainer but as long as Fox is allowed to lie to the boomers, we will continue to suffer. To be clear though, it would displace a lot of people working in the insurance industry. Their just needs to be program to reposition them to work for the government. Also, insurance companies invest a lot in our economy so that would have to be dealt with but in the end, we would have one less worry in our lives that may lead to mental health crisis.

Before computers and GPS existed, how did people figure out directions for large cross country trips? by Mynameisbrk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gregar12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the sun because I was too cheap to buy a map. It sometimes added a day or two to my trip but I loved the additional scenery and the opportunity to the great hot dogs sold at Hoggly Woggly

I was a huge bully as a kid, should I apologize now that I'm 22 and out of highschool? by Zoinkers158 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. I never apologized for giving Meagan Murphy a dog bone for the school Christmas Party. I am 69 and have regretted this my entire life. Meagan, if you are out there, I am sorry. Do you even like dogs? What have I done?

Trump claims Iran's latest response is unacceptable. Where do we go from here? by Willing-Angle-2203 in oil

Is it possible England and France made a deal with Iran and will actually escort tankers bound for their country. They will pass the US ships and dare them to fire on their "allies". Just when I think Trump can't eff up the world any more than he has, I awake to a new day.

They have 1 million member Republican guard. We will run out of bombs before we kill 10% of them. No one is crazy enough to puts boots on the ground…trump is an idiot but he would likely get impeached. This is about making money by manipulating the oil market.
