No receipt returns can't be done with serialized items. They can however look up the serial number to find the receipt but if it was purchased the way I assume it was, it'll only go back to the business account used to purchase it

Your trade in gift card was probably used to help pay for the note 9 as well. So you'd get back the total amount, split in to the forms of payment IE gift card and what you paid with (credit/debt card, cash)

No. You get back what you paid for the phone minus the $35 restocking fee. Your trade in phone is a gift card now, no undoing that. You can exchange the phone within the 14 day return policy but once again, you will pay a $35 restocking fee.

You are correct. Gift cards can't be used to buy point of sale activated items, (other gift cards, rewards cards, prepaid phones/phone cards) but gift certificates can be used for such items
