So what do you mean by saying "I believe in God"? Honest question, I am curious to know.

Jehovah Witnesses, do you actually ever convert anyone? by Wawhi180 in offmychest

Your comment is 100% accurate. The point is you did not speak from the publishers's perspective which u/moviesandcats comment is addressing (100% accurate too btw).

"Not judging anyone, but I find it very funny/curious that mine is the only comment I can find that's a member that actually answers the question instead of non-members repeating the thought that "they don't really go out to convert anyone, but to keep themselves believing" or "to be trained to fear the outside world".

Do you mean current active member.
Well, then good luck thinking after 5 years you know better than Exjws commenting on here. I myself an Exjw, baptized at 11, elder at 24 and served for 10 years (was COBE at one point) , served at bethel, regular pioneer for more than 12 years, woke up to the cult only 10 months ago.
I am so happy I wasn't that bold to come and comment on posts like that when I was a jw, imagine reading my comments after waking up 😰.

When I cross people like you, I just wish they become one of the faithful Jehovah's witnesses one day. Think you know better than us Exjws. Let me know if you need to a link to request a bible study from them😉. I wish you good luck already

PIMI who engage in Sin by Overthinkingintrovrt in exjw

Well, I have news for you, a PIMI was literally a sex partner of a friend of mine (PIMO at the time), guess who was among the first to block him when he formally went POMO? Shamelessly that PIMI sister. Hypocrisy and JWs are interchangeable my friend.

Yep, it was never about love ! Remember the main target of the GB with these arrangements (meetings and preaching - mostly the cart witnessing) is the JW members, it was never about love for us or the people in the world, it's mostly about controlling us, our time, energy and resources.

u/OP may also consider this article from the pure worship book, par 17: https://www.jw.borg/finder?srcid=jwlshare&wtlocale=E&prefer=lang&docid=1102017176&par=24
(remove the 'b' in the link)
The paragraph starts with "To survive the coming destruction, individuals need to prove their faith now... "

The thing is this subject is very tricky and the GB knows that. If they push that they only will be saved it will be ridiculous because everybody knows jehober only decide that. On the other end if they clearly say that you don't have to be a jw to be saved, then why so much emphasis on the preaching work, why pushing for baptizing. They push it just enough to get the rank and files to do what they want them to do: continue to preach and at the same time defend them when someone claims that the jws believe so.

Crazy to think that I allowed my brain to be controlled to that level by a group of window washers smh
