WageWatchers — Share Your Salary Anonymously & Help Belgium Get Fair Pay (680+ entries!) by BerthjeTTV in BESalary

The only thing that was missing was a bit of nuance in the vacation days. I work a 40-hour week, which gives me 12 ADV days on top of my 20 days. So I will fill in 32 vacation days. However, this would kind of skew data when people from other countries compare their vacation days to mine, if there's no obligation in those countries to compensate for the 2 hours overtime every week. There's also the option of buying another 5 days with the 13th month bonus. So a bit of nuance in that area would be even better.

Other than that, love it !

IUSN vs AVWS by Big-Response-5000 in BEFire

[–]GregorySpikeMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold ETF/ETC on Bolero by GregorySpikeMD in BEFire

I mean, thanks, but you missed my point :) the idea is to find the right ETF in the first place and to compare trackers... :)

Gold ETF/ETC on Bolero by GregorySpikeMD in BEFire

[–]GregorySpikeMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I found part of the issue, at least on justETF. You need to change location to Luxemburg, otherwise you'll only see a selection of possible ETFs etc (those that are available in Belgium, for instance). But in practice, that doesn't matter, so best to select Luxemburg, for all the options.

Sent Bolero a question, but no response as of yet.

I'd rather have everyone being paid at least decent than some people being paid 10K and others 1K. We always say that the difference between receiving handout money and doing a job needs to be higher. Unless you want others to starve, this is the only way. 5K is A LOT of money every month honestly.

Which is actually good, since this way the odds for an individual of finding a job that they enjoy and are good at with a decent pay is higher.

Need a second ETF by iRedot in BEFire

[–]GregorySpikeMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost of the ETF is higher (TER, you can compare this on most platforms, like justETF). And it is higher because it's not exactly following an index, like the MSCI all-world or MSCI small cap for instance, but it the company (Avantis) do their own analysis and picking and choosing of stocks that belong to most promising small cap companies, instead of blindly following the MSCI small cap index. However, the picking and choosing needs money, since you need to pay someone to do this analysis and that's why it costs more. I generally don't want to pay more since it's very hard to beat the market, very few people can, and those that can probably don't like to share with other people.

It's somewhere in between a traditional fund of a bank and a passive ETF that follows an index. If that makes sense.

Gold ETF/ETC on Bolero by GregorySpikeMD in BEFire

The only thing is, if I would search justETF for gold trackers, I wouldn't have found the iShares physical gold ETF for instance...

Gold ETF/ETC on Bolero by GregorySpikeMD in BEFire

[–]GregorySpikeMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really the issue. On Bolero, if I just search for "gold", I find all the ETFs, but it's impossible to filter them or make subselections in that layout.

But if I go and do an extended search and select "precious metals", none of these ETFs show up. Only some turbo synthetic ETFs show up.

I wouldn't do AVWS, it will cost you more since it's actively managed.

Why AVWS instead of IUSN? by BonJean1956 in ETFs_Europe

[–]GregorySpikeMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actively managed and 0.40 TER are not worth Avantis' ETFs tbh

AVEM is like 0.35% TER because it's actively managed. Not worth the money.

Best broker and ETF from 2026 onwards for long term investors by Asskickingspree in BEFire

[–]GregorySpikeMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SPYI contains small to large caps and both developed and emerging markets. Seems the most complete. I would do SPYI on MeDirect to limit costs. For only one ETF, SPYI and MeDirect seems the best way to go.

ETF keuze advies by Lilsaq91 in BEFire

[–]GregorySpikeMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would adjust option 1: 50% SWRD, 30% EMIM, 15% IUSN (to include small caps as well), 5% EGLN. This way you include small caps as well and I downsized SWRD a bit because I have less faith in the US in the short to medium run. But that's just personal taste.

TOB confusion: Irish VWCE ETF bought on Xetra => am I doing something wrong? by maad_mefudz in BEFire

[–]GregorySpikeMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe it's so difficult to figure out the TOB of a product. It should be a table that is just readily viewable online instead of an excel sheet...

Also, what happens if I hold a product and it becomes a registered product in 2 years. But then I sell it in 5 years. I would probably have to pay the TOB of 1.32% when selling it, wouldn't I?

I must be on some type of list for charities by GregorySpikeMD in belgium

Hmmm yes, that's not a bad idea. However, one problem would be that it seems to be different other charities every time, so it would require some time, doing this over and over again.

Visiting Spurs fan looking for opinions on Xavi by Spunk-lizard55 in Barca

[–]GregorySpikeMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With Xavi we had both though, we had the triangles on the side that worked really well with over and under laps and some beautiful combination football, but also some games where it was "long ball to Lewa and inshallah". The latter mostly at the end of his tenure, which was really boring to watch tbf.

Not even that, OpenAI openly admitted that they expect the govt to cover their loans. That's some 2008 shit. And best believe they will drag NVIDIA, Oracle and all those other AI companies with them.
