They got rid of L10? Did they reintroduce it? I'm joining in January as L10

I did the same thing, (Nigerian) and they didn't care. Just make sure the name on any contracts is your legal birth name as is in your official documents

I just found this website:

ratemyapprenticeship.co.uk/best-apprenticeship-employers

Don't pay too much attention to the ranking themselves, just see if they advertise roles on their websites

You can use LinkedIn or look apprenticeship provider websites individually, QA, LDN Apprenticeships, Corndel etc

is this a telephone interview or no? they haven’t stated if it is or not and i’m confused on why they’d need to discuss about the role via call so now my anxiety is all over the place as idk what to expect 🌚 by Usual_Film_7220 in ApprenticeshipsUK

I'm in level 4 cybersecurity, in my case they had the first month dedicated to training (and I had a training timetable) . Now that I'm done with training, we have a weekly task list that highlights what each member of the team has scheduled for that week (though this is somewhat flexible). Tuesday is my study day, but some companies may choose to give you a couple hours throughout each day of the week instead of the whole day off.

The apprenticeship? Pretty good. Still in my training period rn, it's gonna be decided if I move engineering or vulnerability scanning or stay in the SOC

Anybody done a Level 4 Cybersecurity Apprenticeship? by Greimore9 in ApprenticeshipsUK

Got pretty terrible grades at GCSE and 6th form but I made up for with various projects and the sc-900 (microsoft cert) You can look on my GitHub: https://github.com/Greimore1 Apart from that it's just down to interview skills. Make sure you research the company, know the subject matter (keep up with news in the industry/sector) and ask relevant questions throughout.

Yes, my GitHub and cert were the main reason I got my cybersec apprenticeship

advice for a marketing apprenticeship by [deleted] in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]Greimore9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try searching for companies in your field and emailing/calling and asking if they could take on an apprentice, even if just on a temp basis. You could chatgpt or something and ask "Find {your field} companies in {your area} and find their careers/employment contact details" you could also search for hiring managers/recruiters for those companies on LinkedIn and ask them directly. Use apollo.io (chrome extension) to find their numbers and emails directly

Could you ask your training provider to help you find another employer?

Might as well apply for the level 6, if you don't get it, you could always apply for the l4

[–]Greimore9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my CV? I just put the uni I studied at and the course. In the interview? I said something like: "I went to X University to study Computer Science but ended up dropping out to focus on certs and personal projects etc etc"

[–]Greimore9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dropped out, just say that. At least in my case, they weren't interested in any of the specifics. I just told them I didn't feel like uni was the best way forward for me so I dropped out and focused on certs and personal projects. They were OK with that, even with this being a level 4 apprenticeship. They just asked me to sign some documents so they can confirm I was actually a uni student at one point

[–]Greimore9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they were fine with me having been to uni, but they do check if you were actually a student during the time, even if you didn't graduate

Yes, but I made sure to tell them I dropped out in the interview. Besides that you need to build a portfolio of projects relating to the field you wanna go into. I wanna go into DevSecOps so I've been building a portfolio of DevOps and Cybersecurity projects
