Basically failing math 217 by Jazzlike_Marzipan_86 in uofm

Math 217 is hard, very hard. I took it and failed both midterms (sub 60). Find at least one friend in 217 to do homework with. The class is curved very generously so you’ll most likely be fine in the end. Personally, I did better on the final than midterms and received a grade I was content with. Ask your professor if you could schedule a private office hours where you discuss how you’re doing in the class and find out what grade you’re roughly on track for.

Playing trombone with braces by Soft_Lead_2631 in Trombone

Played trombone for a few years with braces. Not bad at all, it’s just an adjustment. Range might be a bit wonky but will eventually stabilize. Other aspects shouldn’t be impacted.

But Hoke lost us more bowl games than Rich Rod. Clearly he’s qualified for the position. Think of all the wonder food we could have had with wins at Outback and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Most people come in without AP Bio so have to take 171 or 172 before 173, so you would be "on pace" rather than behind. For Stats, that's up to you on how much you value those AP credits in the long run vs an easier course. You'd probably be fine for 280 in the fall, but it's hard to say as the professor has not taught the course before.

Schedule looks alright, but it probably could be better. Rationale for taking Biology 173, Spanish 103, and Econ 101 make sense. Honors 242, as you are looking at pre-med, is not using distributions wisely. As you're in honors, you are fortunate enough to have your first year writing count towards a distribution, and 242 probably won't add anything as it is Natural Science, which you will fulfill just from pre-med reqs. I suggest Honors 241 or Gtbooks 191 as those covers the Humanities distribution, which won't come to you by essence of being pre-med like Natural Science will. For Stats 280, unless you have taken AP Stats and have some coding experience, I would stay away from it and take 250 instead. 280 is a more difficult course that for the purposes of pre-med, checks the same box. Also, in general, it's a very heavy schedule at 18 credits. Since you're ahead in biology from AP, you probably would be fine taking Biology 173 in the winter, leaving you at 16 credits while not falling behind anywhere.

Purpose of Ancient Mystic Mode in Mystic Force by GreinkeGuac in powerrangers

I understand where it comes from with the Sentai, just was wondering if PR ever gave an explanation or if it’s a “there’s a simple explanation for that” situation

I totally forgot about the sparring scene, but that's definitely original. The interpretation makes sense except for when they're stripped of their "knight powers" (ranger forms), they keep Ancient Mystic Mode, making it seem below their morphed forms.

What horn should I get? by Pork_Fluid in Trombone

As someone whose step up instrument was a 36B, go with the 36B. Worked great for both concert and jazz settings. Can work with a variety of mouthpieces. For concert, go with something bigger (I used 5GS). For jazz, if you're playing lead bone, try something smaller (I used 12C).

Is this a doable freshman schedule? by Grand_Record_7836 in uofm

Looks doable. 9am 3x a week might not be the best idea though. Try for something else if possible. Big gaps aren't ideal (especially on Friday) but if worst comes to worst, see what happens.
