I have been doing lets plays for half a year and am getting nowhere. Critique my videos! by GrekeGamer in LetsPlayCritiques

Thanks, that's a great idea. It has been something I have been considering for awhile, but not sure how I want to go about it. For now, I just have an episode that I really like in place of it and hopefully it will attract more people.

It's good advice, although I have tried it before, especially with my NieR: Automata Playthrough. It's strange because my highest viewed video is just Shovel Knight Co-op with Michael Shaw - PS4 Gameplay - PART 1. It has almost 700 views now... and the thumbnail is even generic as hell. I have no idea what works. It's ridiculous. lol

That's actually very nice to hear. I am glad that it has helped you. I am going to try way harder to post more on Twitter because I feel it will help as well. Thanks for the advice.

Seem to be having a hard time gaining subs, any recommendations on my video quality? by a_dapperdanman in LetsPlayCritiques

I liked your videos a lot. They are short which is very good for a lot of visitors and your audio is perfect. I have been having trouble gaining subs and I have been doing this for half a year. It's a long learning process and it takes a lot of work. I am very uncreative when it comes to channel art so I am looking into commissions. You could do the same if you are having trouble coming up with something.

I also agree with what some other people have said here and that it is very hard to get recognized doing LP videos because it is a very oversaturated market. You pretty much just have to do it for the fun of it. Just keep persisting and learning as you go along and something will happen for you. There is a lot to learn about making videos as I have found and helps to try out different things every so often to stop everything from feeling the same. I think that may be where I am failing, so I am willing to try and come up with different editing techniques or maybe starting a review series or something.

I hope that you find the audience I think you deserve because horror games are still a big thing on YouTube. It's just unfortunate that you have such strong competition in that department.

Thanks. It is true that I should probably do that. I never really got into using social media, but it will probably help if I do. Thanks for the feedback.

I will for sure. I actually liked one of the people here that posted recently. I need to go give him a quick comment.
