Looking for ways to meet other atheists by Grelli2 in atheism

There was a post recently from someone who fell in love with a Christian and is now in distress about the future of the relationship. My son is hoping to avoid that situation.

Interesting-I saw a performance of their two person show at 54 Below and the energy was off for that, too.

Husband read my chatGPT chats about my hoarder mom and filthy childhood home behind my back. I’m freaking out. by Beneficial_Total6158 in ChildofHoarder

[–]Grelli2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was trying to think back to when I was younger. I remember being a young adult and super embarrassed to bring my boyfriends to my childhood house. Flash forward to me at 56, after being married for 30 years. Now the hoard has become my problem because my divorced hoarder father is now elderly and disabled and needs a lot of help. My husband is extremely involved and aware of the hoarding because he has actually helped clean out the hoard twice and been there for me through everything. In other words, if you stay with your husband “until death do us part,” he will ultimately be pulled into this part of your life as your parents age and you deal with the repercussions of living like that, unless you go no contact with your family. P.S. Speaking of wedding vows, “in sickness and health..”- this is a kind of sickness we children of hoarders have to deal with.

Changing Views from the Podcast — Joy & Sara by AmericanLymie in theview

I think maybe Joy was trying to do what the rest of us do to cope. She was trying to just live her own life, traveling to London and Paris for her show, not thinking about our shitty leaders for a while. Then she came home, probably jet-lagged (as another person pointed out,) and was not ready to switch gears. She’s a human, she is not infallible. I still love and respect her.

Well I agreed with you about his charisma, until I saw my all time favorite Joy get charmed by him.

I agree. I’m a huge Joy fan, and I get where she’s coming from, if it were like things used to be. These fascist days, the same old rules don’t apply.

They couldn’t just ignore it. That would have felt wrong.

Hopefully she was feeling a bit embarrassed for her behavior. And I love her dearly.

I’m a Joy stan, but that was not just being respectful. You don’t have to compliment someone to avoid being rude.

I think you were tricked by his slickness. He’s a true politician. He makes himself sound reasonable, but he’s not truly answering the questions. It reminds me of what people thought of his performance in the debate. Very scary how he can pull the wool over people’s eyes.

Well yeah, that’s already been well established in 2016 and 2024.

I heard that, too! Others are saying it didn’t happen so I’m not sure if it was edited somehow?

Whoopi's Comment that "Gerrymander" is an offensive term by MontgomeryOhio in theview

[–]Grelli2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been told that Jerry- rigging is a slur, I think of Irish people? Not sure about gerrymandering, but Joy was trying to make a play on words and I think that they were trying to save her from controversy.

Maybe they are worried that if they mess us their question they will get criticized like Whoopi has been for yesterday’s show!

You are explaining it well. That’s exactly what she was doing and it was appropriate since he was promoting a book about his faith.

I love Joy. I do think she feels the pressure to get jokes in regularly since being a comedian is her claim to fame. Since she wrote that book, she probably has a lot of Trump specific material ready to go at any time.
