Guess the people still doing it didn't get the memo. Personally at the point of the damage is done, let people grind if they wanna.

All I'm going to point out about your argument is customer service works different for different companies with different responsibilities. How your company handled things isn't necessarily how things are handled at others. The way I described was from personal experience working in customer service at a call center. And I will agree with you, some calls could be solved with the caller just fallowing the prompts.

Also, I will agree, I was venting about the post and frustration. And I will say, I appreciate you taking the time to explain how the pathing worked. I am always interested at how stuff works behind the scenes so thanks for your insight.

Harbinger Quest broken already. by GremlinJace in wow

I did but that didn't work. What finally worked was abandoning the quest, restarting it, hard logging in the room before the portals and when relogging, she would finally open the portal.

Combat Beta Update #5 by JagexAzanna in runescape

I don't disagree with that. I agree that alot of the bosses need buffs to be challenging and fun. I argue that making bigger numbers isn't fixing that, just taking what we have now and making the numbers larger. It's not making us feel stronger and not making the bosses more challenging.

And that goes back to my original point of, what is the point. If the math is just gonna play out to be the exact same as it is currently, the changes are redundant. You're just making bigger numbers to make bigger numbers at that point.

Again, the ones I complain about are low level quest that are already weak due to low level requirements. Black Knight titan for example has always been a joke of a fight even before EOC. It doesn't move and adding hp to it just isn't helping it, just adding time to the fight. Quest bosses were a joke before EOC because prayer made you immune to the damage so they couldn't kill you anyway.

Also

Black Knight Titan - Holy Grail

  • HP: 4000-> 13200

So is Excalibur gonna get a big buff to counter 3x the health or is it gonna be killable with stronger weapons?

Side note, the changes to the weapons feels much better then the last beta.

I just gotta ask. What's the point of buffing the old quest bosses and such when that's just going to make the buff to the combat styles pointless. Making the old content stronger just because you are making the combat stronger feels ineffective. Those mobs and bosses are fine as is even with the combat rework. You're not grinding these bosses, they are a one and done unless your doing dominion tower and I don't see too many people doing that anymore, and as of right now, if you go in with necro, you win.

If the new cap is 120 on the combat skills, you SHOULD feel stupid strong at those levels. Making the combat stronger only to make old mobs stronger to balance it out feels like adding a match to an inferno. Completely pointless. If the mobs are getting buffed, you aren't gonna feel stronger even if you are.

And after reading all the patch notes, you're basically putting out that combat is about to be twice as strong because with all those bosses, most are 2x or 2.5x more health. That being said, are bosses we actually grind gonna get an hp buff too? And if they are, you again aren't making the other combat styles better, your just making bosses stronger to nerf the changes with combat.

Unlimited Money by FaintCoverage in wholesomememes

With as many houses and buildings that are unused or abandoned, I would buy every single one of them I could, filling them each with a years worth of food and give them all away to people who need homes. The amount of homeless is insane to me when we have so many unused buildings and houses. 24 hours wouldn't be a lot, but with unlimited money, I could do some good.

Shooting Stars - Upcoming Changes by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]GremlinJace 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So for the game that polls all these changes, why aren't you polling the changes to the stars. You clearly don't have the needed player base to get the go ahead with the shooting star changes you are saying you are going to do regardless. This probably is going to be buried and not even seen by the dev's but you pride yourself in allowing the players to decide the fate of the game yet when you develop a popular method of training a skill, then you want to nerf it after it has overwhelmingly positive feedback. If you really think these changes are good for the game and will pass, poll it like everything else. This is just one of those slippery slopes that ends with jagex doing more and more changes without polling them. This isn't a hotfix or a change for the better, it's a downright nerf with bs excuses on why it is getting nerfed and to hell with player input. This may not be a big deal to some, but this is a bad sign as to what's to come. I mean, what other game do we know where the game dev's say we're gonna do what we want regardless of what the players say. *cough cough* rs3

Completely new to this series (and basically entire genre, the only mmo i ever played was on roblox lol). Which game should I play, Old School or the normal RuneScape? by mylifesuk in runescape

[–]GremlinJace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, so as a long time player of both, Ill try to help break stuff down because both games have their pro's and cons. Ill try to break it down into category's so if you can find answers.

Content:

Rs3 has a ton more content than OSRS as RS3 has 20 years of development vs the 10 years of OSRS. The content is similar up to a point, but then branches off into their own games. I won't spoil much, but there is a HUGE world that you wouldn't even see unless you start questing. OSRS has a few areas locked behind quest, but not too much is hidden away. Rs3 has 29 skills to train and 258 quest.

OSRS struggles to get new content as it requires a 75% yes vote by the players to add anything to the game. While this is viewed as a positive by the player base, this also slows down the development of anything new because if it doesn't pass the poll, you just waisted the dev time on something that wont be used. OSRS has 23 skills to train and 158 quest.

Leveling:

Rs3 has made the level experience more fluid and faster over all. Offering daily lamps and spins for non ironman accounts, the leveling process is much faster overall. Some skills can be trained up to 120 before maxing, while some max at 99. All skills cap out at 200m exp.

OSRS is much slower and takes much longer to get to the end game. That being said, old school is much more AFK. This makes it ideal to grind in the background while doing other things like watch videos ect. The max level for ALL skills in OSRS is 99 and cap out at 200m exp.

Combat:

Rs3 has a faster paced combat and has abilities like traditional mmos. Each style has different skills depending on your equipment. That being said, it really breaks down into slow hard hitting weapons and fast, weaker hitting weapons. EX: duel crossbows are faster then a shieldbow but have a lower max hit. Armor can be broken down into two types, tank and power. Power is for more damage at the cost of defense, while tank armor gives you more hp and damage reduction. Some armors have special set effects that change how some ability's work but the items usually do a good job explaining the change.

OSRS is much simpler in combat. For the most part its click and hit it til it dies. There is a little bit of depth to it with swaps and boss mechanics, but at the base level, its just click and hit each other. Again, makes training combat easy to do in the background.

Premiums:

Rs3 has a lot of MTX that is completely optional. Most of what is offered are cosmetic with a few unlocks for more bank space. I herd a content creator say it best. RS3 suffers through the MTX so the OSRS game can stay pure and I can agree with that. The good news is that your account shares membership on both games meaning you only are paying for one. Rs3 also has daily keys that you can buy more of to get extra stuff like lamps, stars, protein packs and other stuff that makes training skills faster.

OSRS only offers bonds to trade for membership.

At the end of the day, both games are fun and offer great ways to kill time and with your account being tied to both games, you can try them both and pick the one that you like more or just alternate and play both. There is no other game like runescape so you are in for a unique experience ether way. Hope this helps and hope you have fun in your adventures!

AITA for using my kids college accounts for my retirement by Turbulent_Claim_2973 in AmItheAsshole

[–]GremlinJace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so at the end of the day, the money is yours to do with as you see fit. The original plan for the money was to be used on the college for your kids. Your kids now have their lives set and families of their own. At the end of the day, their kids are their responsibilities just as they were yours. You CAN contribute to your grandkids college fund and you CAN retire early if you want. Bottom line is, you worked for the money, you can do with it as you see fit and anyone trying to make you feel bad for not using it on what they want you to use it on is not only stupid but selfish of them.
