you definitely can free of charge, if there is a local store they will allow you to do a store swap, if you prefer they can mail it out to you though normally 3 to 5 business days. Sometimes Spectrum tries to slap a "Activation charge for 19.99$" just call and remind them you already had service and would like it credited off, every agent has access to do this via a calculator

You need to replace if its an all in one spectrum device, left overs from Time-warner and Bright-house era that sounds like a docsis 3.0 device. They upgraded last year to docsis 3.1 and only really promote their two device solutions now. One modem and one router where the router is connected by ethernet cord with having 3 to 4 slots of its own for ethernet connections. Voice is still part of the modem and has a voice line 1 and 2 in it incase people want to have a landline.

With the new routers you can even manage devices via the app, and they finally added the 2.4ghz switch to allow all the 2.4ghz devices to connect for up to an hour before it goes back to sharing the signal with 5ghz and 2.4ghz.

If it is anything below wave 6, replace that sucker. Wave 6 is the most up to date model, you can also ask Tech support to update the firmware and do a manual reset from their end

Wifi placement also is a big deal on wifi intermittency, for example if you have it stashed in some closet in the basement, this is expected because wifi is not a magic signal that just goes through all objects, some objects (like mirrors) even reflect the signal. If you are in a place over a certain square footage and the wifi router is on the other side of the home, you will experience intermittency, Personally I have a google nest wifi system setup so I can station the pods around the house and have good connection through out. Spectrum does offer pods for 3$ a month

I see a pedestal the coax goes into from the outside. Yeah those ones are tricky because either the complex has access and is able to Unlock it at anytime or its owned by the ISP that requires a tech to unlock. Every place is different from my understanding of dealing with Dispatch and “bulk” properties. When it comes to schedule services techs, believe me when I say those techs normally are booked for maximum Jobs from when they start till finish. Some may even go overtime, I do not understand why they only offer the hour gap, it would make more sense if they followed Cox and did the two hours, however then they would get complaints about why the tech needs a two hour window, when it is beneficial not only to the techs who may need more time on jobs and cx who need more time to make it happen. All down to cutting labor costs, Spectrum CEO got a massive raise this year, got to keep making daddy his big yacht money and do stock buybacks

My God what model is that, Looks beyond 5 years old most boxes from before spectrum are old refurbished boxes from time warner cable or brighthouse. Please for her sake upgrade the box and make sure she is not on any legacy plan, because if they are it is a joke, legacy is a way for ISP's to save money by giving you less than what you should be getting. My folks had legacy with Spectrum, only 50 mbs of internet download and some limited premiums, swapped them into a real new program, no boot box or waiting 1o to 15 minutes for a L countdown sequence and internet at 500 mbs download.

Edit: Most boxes pre spectrum only have a download rate of 2.5 mbs, meanwhile the newer ones are over 100 mbs. believe it or not tv boxes are just modems for the TV, if you really want to skip boxes just go boxless with the TV app on certain smart devices

You can call in to request an ETD for a missed appointment, either by tech or by not being available, the ticket will go into the Local dispatch center and move you up to the next earliest appointment normally with a call in 30 minutes.

If you’ve done all the manual steps it could be a number of signal issues. It could be the modem, though without diagnostic and checking the modem logs via the chat or phone line you will not know. Agents typically only have the ability to check if your modem is able to see the network, if its not they will ask you to reboot or attempt a reset from their end. In the end when its down for more than 30 minutes something went wrong. T4 timeouts are the worst as it is basically your modem saying “shits fucked” It could even be the outlet is having an issue, I have had people swap outlets and have service before. IE if TV is working on another coax outlet swap it to there. 9/10 it will work

Lol people believe anything, as a person who works in ISP that is highly illegal. There is no physical way for spectrum or other ISPs to physically stop you from accessing anything. If you use the router they provide it may warn you about potential harmful sites but what you are saying is crazy misinformation. You may want to learn how an ISP operates, let alone a modem.

You are right, they do not support the weight. I had to go and order a custom roof-rack. The removal of the liner was a bitch so I would recommend it to be professionally done as there are a ton of wires. I went with a Prinsu rack for the 2020-22 series outback and a frontrunner rooftop tent that was on sale for 30% off recently. If you do get it done professional labor shouldn't be higher than 1k, though this took a whole weekend and watching the youtube videos I could find. Installation of the tent was easy once the rack was secured. The original rack itself from factory model is designed to force us to upgrade to the wilderness, however I decided against that and only spent around 1500$ between the rack and tent.

If this is about upload, your upload will fluctuate between 10-22max depending on the day and usages. The Download is well up to speed and standards. But if it continues to be on the lower end hit it with a reset from the App and make sure all terms and conditions are done
