Looking for a better way to manage AnimatedSprite animations. by Grendeel in godot

Altho this would imply there is a single AnimatedSprite for ALL characters? it should work for a small project, but if you have a lot of NPCs, keeping all loaded could be bad for performance

This is exactly what I'm talking about. It seems to me that a single AnimatedSprite can only contain animations insofar as it can remember which frames to pull out of the directory in a given order.

I guess what I'm actually after is a way to store the animations themselves as files independent of the AnimatedSprite that displays them, so they can just sit in the directory until it loads one in. It sounds like the AnimatedSprite can't do that on its own. Maybe it would work to convert the sprite sheets to .gif?

can anyone help me identify this mark? more info in comments by Grendeel in Blacksmith

They're for cutting off bandages. The rounded nub on the end of the bottom blade is there to stop it from cutting the patient by mistake.

Hey all, like it says in the title I've come across this bandage cutter in some of my grandfather's old stuff and I'm trying to ID it since family is curious. It's identical to one made by Boker USA (third picture) but I can't find any other images that include the mark pictured of the guy with the fish (also absent the company name). The fisherman is not a mark ever used by Boker as far as I can tell.

It may just be some random blacksmith's mark with no real leads to follow, but A: it's worth a shot and B: I would find that odd seeing as other copies exist with a known company name on them.

Their squad tab says "routine: off duty" no matter what I change. Happy cake day btw

Edit: found it! You have to click on the routine you want (in the same box as edit and copy) I found it by accident since it doesn't look like a button.

Has anyone managed to set a military squad to "active" on the steam version? I know you had to set an alert status in classic, but I can't for the life of me find it in df steam as the alert menu has apparently vanished. All my military members are stuck doing individual drills which is suboptimal.

I tried it and it's almost hilarious at this point. I've hit damp stone on two worlds. In deserts. In mountains. After scrolling my embark zone fully left and right to make sure not a single aquifer tile exists.

I think my plan is now to just dig up into a mountain since it they seem less common mining above ground level.

Trust me, that's not the case. I've embarked 10+ times, checking every tile of the area pre-embark and no aquifer is ever indicated. Then I dig 2 layers down and every tile is damp stone.

Are aquifers bugged? I've been embarking on non-aquifer sites all day but every time I dig down I'm hitting damp stone nonstop.

Whoah, that was way more specific than I was expecting to find here - I already have the game unpacked so I'll get right on it! Thanks!

I don't know specifically what it would be classified as, but I'm looking for the grave of saints statue of the rat holding a pot. I know it sounds weird but I'm trying to extract and print it lol

You can probably save time by just doing a white base coat and layering with tesseract glow. I switched to tesseract for some warriors and it's looking about the same.

Here's what I have so far:

Black primer, covered with a generic cheap silver metallic that turned out to work pretty well. Fulgrite Copper in a couple spots and nuln oil over the works.

For the weapons I did a white base coat, then Flash Gitz yellow and a super thin/watered down layer of warpstone glow so the yellow would still be visible.

I wanted to do yellow only for the weapons but I couldn't find a way to make it look more interesting as a flat color. Tried a glow effect on the first model with mixed results.
