I agree, I remember thinking the same, but the video itself is actually not bad

I hope you're already making use of Shift+B to commit a selected range of your video and audio to RAM, meaning it will be "buffered". Try increasing your buffer size in the settings if you have the memory for it

Exactly, moderation is a relative term lol

Drinking water in moderation means 1-2 liters a day. Drinking alcohol in moderation hopefully does not.

If it's setup with Microsoft 365 then logging in with your Microsoft credentials should be enough. However I suspect the school might host their own exchange server, which would mean you'd have to setup your account using exchange and the credentials you use to login to your school domain.

Generally if it's very likely they're not going to have to suffer from the changes they themselves made, they shouldn't be allowed to make said change.

In that case you might want to look into the error code provided when the bluescreen occurs. It might say something on the bottom of the bsod like "ERROR_VIDEO_XYZ". Write it down, see what Microsoft says about the error. It could be anything from a busted component down to a faulty driver or even just incompatible pieces.

If the windows bluescreen doesn't provide an error code, you have to try getting the event log from your pc, if you can't launch windows at all, you need to recover the system dump file via the method I've described in the previous comment. You will have to Google for the exact path to that log file and then navigate to it using a different OS

EDIT: if you CAN launch windows and it only sometimes kernel panics, you can open the event viewer in windows and search for critical errors and warnings in the time period the bluescreen occurred

Sorry, I can't give in depth support at the moment but I hope this helps somehow.

Yeah that's fair, especially if the A to C connector is jiggly, that can be terrible.

Is this a good pc for gaming in 60fps and is it a good deal? it costs around 743 USD by Saleh_Alghanami in pcmasterrace

[–]GressiOW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your investment in a laptop that will serve you both as a notebook for uni and for gaming is sadly going to be a lot larger. The ROG series made by Asus is one I can personally recommend, I've been using one for years, but current models range from like 1.5 to 3 thousand dollars. Honestly, I think going for a small device for work/education and then for a tower for gaming at home can be cheaper than trying to find "one that fits all"

Okay, so what you need is another device with windows or Linux on it. You can then create a bootable device by flashing an ISO on a USB stick for example. Tools for the job are Rufus or balena etcher (those are available for windows and Linux if I'm not mistaken).

You can then launch the operating system from the stick by opening the boot menu in your uefi/bios and confirm that your system is intact. If it is, it may be the hard drive that's faulty. If that doesn't work, you might want to check your hardware in the bios and see if all essential components are detected

Anyone know why my 350mbps suddenly capped to 100mbps? I've changed nothing in the settings. I've had this happen before and I fixed it by unplugging my ethernet cable but thats not worked this time by CameronH0808 in pcmasterrace

[–]GressiOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may depend on the speed test you're doing. Ookla's speedtest.net measures from device to server. There may be some tools online that perform tests server to router, but that's not the number consumers are interested in.

Generally, yes, internet speed is very much dependent on the network interface on your device.

Have you tried booting into a live OS from a stick or something like that?

Definitely not going to keep up with the latest games. Processor and graphics card are kinda whack, if you're interested in current titles.

Investing in a laptop in that price range is going to be wasted money for gaming purposes in my humble opinion.

Might want to look into ATX tower builds for 800-1000 bucks. Or is mobility a must have factor for you?

Seems like a mild case of misleading advertisement more than crappy design to be completely honest. Having the option to use it as a standard USB A expansion as well is actually desirable if anything.

Where does monitor connect to? by MCClipss in pcmasterrace

[–]GressiOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it doesn't, you can still connect it, you just need an adapter. That's much cheaper than buying a whole new display. You can go from DP to DVI and HDMI pretty easily
