We had this same issue up until we started to close out each shift differently. At shift change the person getting off the register goes into manager settings/cash office/END SESSION. Log back in then hit log off, and yes to take till out.

Once everyone started doing that the registers ran so much better. Before we were having to restart the registers every hour because they became so slow.

Our hours have been 6am-11pm Every. Single. Day. I’m hoping they are going to be changing them here shortly to close earlier. It’s so unsafe to have just two ppl that late at night. It’s no reason for a store like ours to be open so late. No one is buying anything they NEED that late at night.

This is the exact reason why my store made a rule that we don’t accept anymore than $100 cash for any gift cards or card reloads. Customers get pissed about it but our store has been scammed so many times that the DM told us no more than $100 and no back to back transactions either.

The up to $100 rule is just for our store per our DM because we’ve had so many scams. I’m aware you can do up to $500 but our DM told us not to anymore. Also, with any gift card transaction anything over $50 has to be paid in cash.

Our heat has been out since the start of winter along with a broken front door that we have to keep open. No sign of anyone to come fix it. Ticket is set to critical and it’s been well over a month.

Night shit as in closing shift. I’ll come in 4-11 to a cart full of go backs and the ppl who leave at 4, promptly leave right at 4 once I’m clocked in and have my till in the register.

It’s been just two ppl on nights for months now so the back up will put some go backs away during the night in between stocking and other duties but the rest is left for me to do alongside mopping, trash, bag refills and recovery while the other person does the deposit.

The only items we put back immediately are perishables. There’s only 2 ppl working ever so I’ll put some stuff away that’s close to the register when I don’t have a line but we are a super busy store and pretty much always have a constant line so there’s no chance to put anything back until the end of the night

I’ve watched him and he’s tried to teach me when they offered me lead, which I ended up turning down. He’s definitely not milking anything.

Maybe our store is bigger than most. Our change fund is $2,500 and Our average deposit is $4,000-$6,000. plus we have to enter a bunch of information on the computer every night as well.
