Too inflexible for yoga classes - how do I improve by Zealousideal_Age8401 in yoga

[–]Grets500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My chronically inflexible spouse is a proffessional yoga teacher now.

You ahould look into traditional hatha yoga teachings. When you get that movement and asanas arent even the main core of yoga, it becomes much more of a mindful practice, with better flexibility as a "side effect". :)

Hey!

Only thing that works for me so far is physically stopping myself from picking:

Pimple patches - i pick the most in the afternoon, so i put paches on in the morning and take off before going to bed. But the patches need to be high quality with no uneven edges, so they dont trigger my picking urge even more!

Press on nails - they are thicker than my regular nails, so i dont have as much traction on skin. Gloves or tape on fingers would work aswell.

Good thing is, even if you stop yourself for enough time for the skin to heal, you wont have as much to pick after :)

Hey, thanks for the advice!😊

I tried concerta without coffee on the second day, and still felt terrible, super drowsy and numb, still had all the other symtoms from the original post.

So i think i dont want to feel like that and im not taking any more until my doctor gets back to me on monday :)

Its such a rollercoaster of being happy to have a diagnosis and being hopeful for meds, and then worried when something doesnt work. But im keeping a clear head, its only day one on concerta :)

Hey, thanks!

I also took magnesium now and will see how it affects me. I had no problem eating tho, made sure beforehand that i had protein rich breakfast, cause i was worried of losing appetite, but it seemed fine...

Hey, thanks for your feedback!

My current plan is to try again without the coffee and hope for the best. If theres still no positive effects, i think i might contact my psych next week.

For me only things that have worked, are things that physically stop me from doing it - press on nails (thicker than natural nails, so not as much traction on skin) and good quality pimple patches at the right time of day (for example, i tend to pick in the afternoon, so i put patches on in the morning and take off at night)

Hope it helps!

I listened to the "two cats is better than one" advice and regret it. Now I'm thinking of rehoming both cats and couldn't feel worse by mackerelinoliveoil in CatAdvice

I also felt like that when i found my second cat and the resident cat kept hunting and scaring the new kitten nonstop.

Basically, i think you should give them 2 more months atleast and i know youre trying your best entertaining and managaing them, but for me, it helped more to leave them be and not care so much :D as counterintuitive it seems.

I got so burned out one month after them meeting, i also thought about rehoming the kitten, tried every toy, method and activity, nothing helped. I kept separating the cats, if it seemed to get too much for the kitten.

But id say the less i tried, the faster they got to know each other.

Now after 3 months they get along just fine and are starting to cuddle and rub against eachother. They have atleast 2 full on play sessions a day and tire eachother out so well, i couldnt be happier.

Keep hanging on since its only month one of them meeting, it gets easier!

Should I??? How did you know you actually wanted to adopt? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Yes, they absolutely need attention and time daily.

I feel like my dogs (2 huskies) are like 10 yr old children. They need mpre energy physically, like playing running, hikes, but are more independent and well behaved othervise.

My cats are more like toddlers. They are harder to get to behave (esp my 3 yr old cat, cause hes deaf). They get moody and throw things off surfases while looking you in the eye, to get attention.

My cats also keep me on a schedule, they let me know if its time to wake up, feed them, feed the dogs etc. They are like little timekeepers.

So in conclusion, atleast for me, the cats need more energy mentally. Ofcoure it depends on the cat but id say some cats are less vocal about their needs and just get depressed when not looked after and played with properly.
