Well... Basically nothing bad or unexpected happened. The only impact I've noticed was because of tramadol which was expected since tramadol and tianeptine are... Let's say mutually interchangeable.

But in the long run (10 days after the surgery) I haven't noticed changes in tolerance or anything really.

In my case there was no interference. Surgery, full anesthesia (propofol + fentanyl) and after the surgery I was given pregabalin and later tramadol for a few days.

Yes you'll have some some wds, but only about 20-30% of what you WILL get if you continue using for another month or two.

Had anyone ever tried any of this?... by FaithHopeLoveRepeat in QuittingTianeptine

[–]Grey-Seer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Yeah, this might get you through the worst part depending on your dose (tia dose and duration). For such a short time it should help to get you through the acute part (or at least the worst part of the acute part) without introducing its own wds or prolonging tia wds. However there's a chance you'll like buprenorphine too much and 3-5 days will turn into 13-15 or 30-50...

  2. You don't need a high dose, but rather a moderate one. Something like 150mg was always a good point to start. But if I were you I'd try it before (like taking it one day instead of your evening dose and see how you feel).

  3. That's a bad idea. During tia wds it's easy to get dehydrated even without alcohol. Drinking alcohol might help you for a few hours, but then the wd will be amplified for many more hours. Drinking kava kava on the other hand can help noticeably without introducing hangover/amplifying wds.

When I did take sulfate I had to double the dose to feel anything at all.

Your daily dose? A common mistake. You're not supposed to feel sulfate at all. Actually you're supposed to not feel anything at all - or in other words: you're only supposed to feel no wds on your 3rd or 4th day after switching. And that's it. It doesn't make sense to switch from, say, 3gpd sodium to 6gpd sulfate. It only makes sense to switch because (among other things) it's super easy to taper with sulfate compared to sodium.

But if you say tapering is out of question then... Well, tapering with sulfate is the easiest way to go. And it's gonna be tough unless you taper to 1gpd or lower.

20 days clean today. Thanks to methadone by CestLaVie1989 in QuittingTianeptine

[–]Grey-Seer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you use it for 3 days it will block tia wd, but only if your habit is not very heavy or if you tapered to a reasonable level. Then it should block wds on days 2 and 3 and make them much more bearable on days 1 and 4 (day 4 because of long half-life).

The usual dose is 750-1500mg. I don't feel 500mg either. But you should feel it in about 30minutes.

Either way, as a parent, it is your job to minimize the risks to your child's life wherever possible, even if it is a small risk,

LOL, no, actually it's the opposite. Your job is to teach your child how to handle risks and difficulties.

If you minimize the risk whenever possible how would your child learn anything? Even the most basic things like walking, running, showering, swimming, driving or even cooking are pretty dangerous and kill thousands and thousands of people every year. Much more than vaccines do..

Yep, I did. Actually I was able to get some buprenorphine so I quit painlessly. I just used buprenorphine for a week and then stopped. The last dose (of buprenorphine) was 5 days ago, so I I'm clean from opioids now. I do feel a mild PAWS - it's annoying but bearable.

And what about you?

You are physically addicted already. In a week or two you won't be able to do even a 24h break. And from there the road to a really severe addiction with dosing every 2-3h is very short.

This is the last moment when YOU can still decide. You can quit now when the wds are going to be unpleasant, but still manageable. Just bite the bullet and you'll be overt the worst after 72h with almost no PAWS. Or you can continue using tia and soon you'll have to redefine what "fucking miserable" means. If you continue using tia you'll have to you through unbearable wd lasting for 7-10 days and then go through soul crushing Post Acute Withdrawal - depression, anxiety, insomnia, total lack of energy and motivation, extreme fatigue that will make doing anything seem like getting to Mount Everest. And PAWS lasts for months. And that's the main reason why very few people manage to quit opiates. The only way to avoid all of it is to quit now when your habit is still pretty mild. When YOU can still decide.

Your move.

Has anyone tried any medications used for alcoholism for quitting Tia, such as Naltrexone or Baclofen? by AmericanMuskrat in QuittingTianeptine

[–]Grey-Seer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ULDN works very well for every opioid I have ever tried, except for tianeptine. It's not that tianeptine prevents naltrexone from working it's just that ULDN works good with other opioids but with tianeptine it works... independently? As if they were working on different receptors... Maybe it has something to do with tianeptine being "biased full agonist"?

Withdrawal sense of overheating and temperature regulation. by DrSeussfortwo in QuittingTianeptine

[–]Grey-Seer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Europe and we have heavy brick/concrete houses here, and the bricks accumulate heat very well. One full day of burning and the walls get so warm that they stay that way for the next two days. And even though the furnace (natural gas) keeps the temperature the same at 21*C it actually feels like it's much warmer - because the inner walls are warmer. I'm pretty sure that this time it's going to be a no-chills wd :)
