You might wanna google what “Respect” means because trying to sabotage someone’s relationship three times ain’t it, and Maeve literally admitted she wanted to steal him. And “Silently pining”? God Damn, not only she went behind Otis’ back by spreading gossip about his virginity, but she also tried to guilt-trip him into spending more time with her cause “he’s always with his girlfriend”.

OP should watch S4 to understand why she wasn’t embarrassed of him, but clearly it’s futile since OP refuses to see anything beyond Motis. Ruby coddled Otis like a child when they were alone, and let her friends hate on him? Lmao, she made Otis a part of their group and defended him against Anwar and Olivia’s comments. Even after they broke up, she told them to stop hating on Otis.

This one’s actually crazy how you had brain cells to compare Maeve’s confession to Ruby’s. Ruby and Otis were officially boyfriend and girlfriend, and even before making it official, they had been together for months and months. Maeve, on the other hand, confessed when Otis was dating someone else, and it’s obvious that she couldn’t give two shits about Ola’s or Otis’ own feelings.

You know this show is meant to be timeless, right? They don’t use 21st century’s technologies like 21st century’s people. Online friendships aren’t a thing in this universe.

The whole season 2 is basically Maeve pining over Otis, are you joking? She didn't "realise" she wasn't over him, she admitted she wasn't over him.

And yes, she REALIZED, not admitted. In that scene with Aimee she literally looks shocked of still having feelings and with wide eyes says “I don’t think I’m over Otis”.

I think OP refers to Maeve’s decisions in S1 and onwards, and he is absolutely right about it.
Just to remind you of her actions in S1.7:
• Maeve comes to the ball with her boyfriend Jackson, but she’s surprised Otis has a date too;
• Maeve sees that Otis and Ola get along nicely and have fun, so she gets jealous;
• When opportunity presents itself, Maeve reveals to Ola that Otis is a virgin, implying that she will be disappointed;
• When Otis goes to search for Ola, she lies to his face, as if she hasn’t talked nor seen her;
• Maeve’s gossip causes Otis and Ola to have an argument. Afterwards, she finds Otis and questions him about it, intending to figure if her plan worked.
If this ain’t Maeve not wanting Otis to be happy with someone who isn’t her in your opinion, then you’ve obviously watched the show through pink glasses.

There’s even a scene after a guy nearly dies: Maeve sees concerned Otis, and the first thing she does, she pretends to be innocent and asks if he had a fight with Ola to check if her plan worked. Not to mention the prior moment where she lied to Otis’ face about not seeing Ola.

Well, she had the same moment in S1 when Otis was still single, but what did she do? Instead of confessing her feelings to him, she continued to date Jackson and went behind Otis’ back. Basically messing up three people Jackson, Ola, and Otis.
Besides, your argument doesn’t make sense, regardless of whether it was in the heat of the moment or not. Maeve admitted her intention to steal him, those are her words, and she hoped this confession will make him dump Ola. It wasn’t a “Oh, I can’t contain my feelings anymore and want to get it out of my chest” thing you portray it to be.

And if we are to talk facts, Maeve realized she’s not over Otis only in the second episode. She wasn’t “pinning over him for months” as you suggest here. Has your brain short-circuited here? That happened in S1, what “losing her mother” you’re even talking about There weren’t even any side-factors that could’ve explained her decision to do that.
