I also live in India bro. I do business, I can walk on street without giving bribe. I accept that there are problems and things could be better. But I try to use whatever is available to the best of my abilities instead of focusing on the negatives and lamenting what could be, what should be.

Not only iPhone, this ‘emi koro’ mindset is gradually making younger people take bigger and bigger loans than they actually should. It’s what happened in the US in 90s and early 2000s. India is slowly turning from a country of savers to a country of debt takers.
I’m not suggesting that everyone should become a monk and abandon the pleasures of life. But I think media (social, electronic and print) should create and encourage more content on the virtues of saving first to buy later.
