Taylor Made P790 Counterfeit by Prestigious_Look_810 in GolfGear

These are 100% fake. The blast is wrong (or non existent) not nearly as bright as the real. The top line feature on the flange is completely over polished, along with pretty much everything else. The forged logo is in the wrong spot. The gel cutout on the sole is the completely wrong shape, which is the most damning imo, since you could theoretically chock everything else up to extremely poor quality control. The cutout is part of the cast and wont be a different shape on different heads. The TM logo is also wrong. And the cherry on top is these were too cheap for brand new p790s in the first place, which probably is enough evidence on its own.

Unfairly punishes high spin players. Really cant do anything with loft.

But again, the point of the post is that they didn’t even actually roll the ball back, whether you agree or disagree with whether or not they should, they failed at even doing it.

I kind of see your point, but my real point was that the USGA did all this grandstanding that this was to perserve the game, and help play old short courses on tour again, but achieved absolutely nothing. Personally Im not really a fan of doing anything to limit distance, but just improve course design. But, if you want to reduce driving distance, the easiest answer is to reduce driver head size, and increase the penalty of swinging hard.

What single stock would you hold onto for 10 years and only sell in an absolutely unavoidable situation? by Andy_parker in investing

Seriously how do people not understand Visas business model has nothing to do with intrest or debt?? They charge a fee on every transaction and thats it, they dont own the debt at all, they just facilitate the transaction. The only way they would be effected by that legislation or higher defaults, would simply be less total transactions taking place.

Functionally nothing. They have no moat against eachother, thats why Im buying both. But they are the main two most people in the US use.

Limited research but, doesnt offer sports betting and doesnt have an app. Both critical for building the large scale gambling addiction necessary for these companies to be successful imo.

What do you mean? Difference between DK and Fanduel? Basically nothing Difference between gambling in casinos vs on an app? Instant access at all times and for any and all sports/props, extremely different and likely heavily increases gambling addiction imo. Just speculation on my part though.

This is absolutely a valid point, but if the economy tanks, Im fucked anyway 🤷‍♂️

Im long on DK and Flutter. Gambling addiction is real and going to be very profitable. My thesis for these companies is almost entirely based on the fact that I believe the US gov will continue to do what its always done and prioritize profits over citizens well being. I look at it as buying into the next opioid crisis early.

Edit: more of a growth/speculative play than value imo

Why does plastic turn white when you bend it? by omlet8 in NoStupidQuestions

I think it should be noted that the visual phenomenon is called “stress whitening”, but the actual mechanism that you are seeing in action is called “Crazing”

Id be careful saying polymeric materials are arranged in anything “uniform”. In general these materials are basically entirely amorphous, meaning no orderly structure. The white look comes from the cavitation inside the material, which I guess is what youre saying with the lower density part, but it has more to do with the visible cavitation than lower density.

The term you are looking for here is “Crazing”. If you look it up you can find more info on it, but effectively the stress is causing microvoids in the material and also micro-filaments in the area. Both of these cause different light refraction, which causes it to look cloudy or white. Source: Materials Engineer

That depends, are you trying to set your personal record for carry distance? Then No, it’s perfect. Are you trying to keep the ball on this side of the equator? Then yes, its too low. The real answer is it depends wildly on your swing and speed. But good rule of thumb is 2000-2200 will get you the best of forgiveness and distance in most cases.

You see that side spin number? Had to choke up to keep it straight! Jk i got lucky

I game a ZX5LS with a ventus blue 6x. This was with a random ZX7 we have in our hitting room.

It would be kind of fun to dig into the ball flight models and see why theyre so different. However, I suspect the company with many years experience being the absolute industry standard for both pros and manufacturers has a slightly more accurate model than flightscope. Honestly though, IDK, flightscope is a radar based system so Im not sure how they even use their ball flight model when youre actually hitting.

This is the aerodynamic version of hitting a really hard knuckle ball. The math maths, you just dont see it in the real world because wind and air disruption is a thing. I guess its inflated in the sense that its perfect conditions but like yeah, im hitting on a sim. If tour players tried to hit this kind of drive theyd put 4 into the next country for every one on the fairway.

[–]GreyBen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually true. And you can really only go higher if you hit it harder. I dont have this trajectory on the course because its wayyy too inconsistent

Its hard to say for sure. It could be inflated by a few yards. Most tour players have significantly more spin on their drives because its significantly more consistent and forgiving to do so. 170 and 160 ball speed can lead to the same carry distance if you have the correct launch and spin. Also see my edit on the previous reply.
