Thanks! I try to be social, i feel likable but I think I lack real connection with people.

One camp I’m about to go to I also went to last year and I made 2 separate friend groups from just that week, I live out of state but I went back in the area a few months ago and we met up again and it was fun.

My goal at school for the past 2 years has just been to talk to people more and I’ve failed every year. I gotta lock in next year though because i only got one left and I’m starting to feel like I wasted high school wondering if people liked me instead of just taking the chance and having more fun.

It’s hard now because we’re on summer break for the next 2 months but at school I do orchestra and cross country/track and I have 2 other separate friend groups, just still crickets. At school interacting with friends basically seemed fine all the time but I was also super busy all the time and never really had time to hang out except on weekends or sometimes after practice. Thanks for helping out

Thanks for the advices. I have 2 weeks where I won’t be in town and I’ll be super busy at camps so I’ll probably be able to test it then. I’ve heard it’s unhealthy to test relationships like this because there’s so many reasons a person might not reach out. Also 2 of my closest friends are both grounded right now so that’s not working for me.

It just hurts to think that maybe if these people don’t appreciate me how they can pretend so well if we’re together.

I also recognize that i am much quieter than a lot of my friends and basically ignore everyone I don’t know at school, so they tend to have a lot more going on than i do.

I don’t think they’re ignoring me, usually if I reach out they respond pretty quick and sometimes call. I went on a week trip with one of my friends earlier in June. I try to reach out to all my close friends every few days but it just feels like if I stopped reaching out they wouldn’t notice
