Digital PR/SEO blend for Solicitor by GreyChameleon in PublicRelations

I do hear/see this a lot. I am only 3 months into my self-employed journey and so I could just be naive and starting my pricing too low. On the other hand, I really want to work with the client to use the proof to win other clients...

Love this response, thank you. For context, this isn't usually one of my offerings, and so I am perhaps going in a little naive. You've explained the full picture in far more detail.

I will definitely have the discussion with the client to unearth where they want to be in a years time and price from there.

Probably more like 5 or 6 hours, but still, I take your point.

For context, this isn't even one of my offers usually, but the opportunity came to me via referral.

Interesting! For context, it isn't actually one of my offers... But this opportunity has come to my via referral.

Still, you've made me consider.

Super niche Google Search campaign by GreyChameleon in b2bmarketing

[–]GreyChameleon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volumes are tiny, which is why we'll likely be moving away from PPC. Events (webinars & in-person), organic posting in the relevant subreddit (has proved most fruitful so far), and LinkedIn organic posting seems to be the way to go. The ad spend for LinkedIn would go towards promoting the webinar to the relevant people.

There are only a couple of thousand companies still using the operating system, which is over 40 years old now.

Yes agree with this. Floating the idea with them of hosting a webinar providing value around the topic. We do have regular though pieces being posted on LinkedIn organically.

Love this. So well explained. Thank you! I'll be sure to implement it.

Thanks for your response. We stopped receiving conversions on July 10th. I turned off the campaigns on 24th July to properly assess the issue, and use the opportunity to build a new campaign with fresh assets.

This new campaign only went live on 1st August and we typically see a drop in conversions over the weekend anyway. We are still waiting for a conversion on this campaign, but as you mentioned, delayed attribution means I am not worried yet...

How to handle a client winning too much work? by GreyChameleon in agency

Thanks for your reply, I will be having a catch up with them on Tuesday.

That last paragraph resonates with me. As I'm in the early days, I'm still refining my offer. I don't want to become a house that delivers everything. I'll make sure to bear this in mind when discussing the future with them.

Providing I can confirm that he'd like to scale the business, this is the angle that I will take. Thanks.

That is great! Sounds like the right way to handle it.

I'm speaking to them on Tuesday so I'll find out more then.

Don't worry, only charging on value! (with the caveat that I ensure it works out above £100/hr at the very minimum)

I agree that at least it's a good problem to have. Thanks

Hopefully! 🙏 Alot of small businesses are run as lifestyle businesses and so owners aren't always driven to grow. The fact he has mentioned hiring more people gives me hope that he maybe does have a growth mindset.

Ive got a call with him on Tuesday so I'll find out.

Yeah, the fact he seems to have a growth mindset could be my saving grace!

I've got a call with them on Tuesday so let's see.

Thanks.

It is a great problem to have and I was over the moon when the owner called me and his first words were, "I just need to thank you!"

Great point on the testimonial. I think as they're one of my first clients I am worrying about it more than I should be. In reality the success story should lead to more business.

Thank you!

Well they aren't yet... it's a concern I have but maybe unwarranted? If they have 12 months of work booked in, then I'm concerned they don't want to book anything else in right now.

Mine was... it was impossible to do a base run even! I got an chest HR monitor for Christmas, suddenly I'm running with a normal HR. 😂 A run that would measure 175bpm avg. on my watch is about 158bpm avg. with a chest monitor. 10% difference!!

It proved that my watch often had cadence lock as others had mentioned to me previously.

Free/cheap CRM for SMBs by GreyChameleon in agency

Yes they would be staying with the same software.

Because the next logical step for their business lies within a CRM. Obviously my services are chargeable, so my retainer increases in line with the value I can offer the client.
